“Sloan, what is this?”

I close the door, watching as she throws her purse into the chair and slides her coat down her arms.  I don’t know how she does it, but even after spending the day chasing behind one trauma after the other, she still can emerge from the hospital smelling clean, and fresh, and divine, as she breezes past me into ( Read more... )

Two in one day, you're killing me you know. And spoiling me. I'll never know how you manage it, but I'm so in awe of you. *smile* You're just so nosy! Hostess or not, just so very nosy :P And I think both myself and hahnsrockstar are thanking that nosiness right now. Junkies, what'd i tell ya.

I have to tell you I found this one to be maybe, my favourite Merica chapter so far. Even with the lack of banter, however much I love it between them it holds them back i think...just prolongs these steps forward that they should make. And I'm all for moving forward, and trying to be happy so this just plays right into my hands.

They've both fallen or are at least in the process of falling, I think that's pretty evident now. Erica's lack of protest at having this little meal and at anything else Mark brought up (that normally would have got a middle finger reaction not too long before) just spoke volumes. And he is just, well..he's sweet? That's so wrong to refer to him that way, I mean it's Mark Sloan! But the man is messing with my head now. He just ( ... )

I perhaps wasn't too clear on the banter thing on re-reading this mess of a comment. I suppose I was a bit too giddy from being spoiled yesterday. I never want them to go all soft and mushy cos eww...for this pairing anyway, but the snark (to me) and with Erica especially, seems to be a way for her to keep Sloan at arms length sometimes. And maybe that just sounds odd now too.

I think the shift in this chapter just put me all out of sorts, it was really just gold.

Hey, it’s the only time I have an excuse to be nosy. And I get beautiful inspiration to revisit one of my favorite pairings ( ... )

It's a darn good thing I don't care for dessert wine, because otherwise people would surely be wondering why I was red as a beet!

Nice, nice, NICE use of strawberries.

No one can match your Merica.

Well, I find oddly enough this pairing has really struck a cord for me. And I just love writing Sloan as Erica's annoying little adorer.

Thank you!

They really are getting more involved with each other, aren't they. I think it's great that they are developing a deeper relationship without having to lose their edge. That was nicely done.

Author's note: for hahnsrockstar and mia_bell's 'private' conversation.

Do you mean last night's drunken exchange about inhuman nuns and a possible Comm Talk AA group? We got this gem of a Merica chapter out of that?

*high fives mia_bell*

Tell me if you mean something else. I can only hope that there are five glasses of wine I can blame for my memory loss.

I'm glad to hear you say that they're no going soft and keeping their edge. I'm struggling a bit with how to have them dance up to that line, but also move forward into something more meaning. But, it's a fun challenge.

And Friday night I just saw a Merica reference flit through my email box, and realized...hmm, I haven't written that in a while. So, hats off to you.

Thank you!

This was such a great chapter! I really like how you're making them start to realize that something more is there but you're not doing it too fast. They're gradually falling. Well at least Erica is gradually falling. I think that Mark fell a while ago. And who wouldn't fall for Erica Hahn?

Thank you. I don't think it would be completely believeable if Erica just fell right under Sloan's spell. She probably has a lot of reluctance on her part and I like having him work through that resistance. He's rather determined and you're right, how could he not be.

I'm so glad to hear you liked this chapter. I appreciate the kind comment. Thank you!
