I have the worst crick in my neck. Seriously, I can barely move. Getting dressed and showering was a chore. >.< Plus, it's like 108 outside... O.O

well, keep in mind that i have two kids and a husband and i live in sacramento which is a more expensive place to live than your area...
i find that 100.00 a week is best. this covers: occasional eating out, soda pickups, coffee pickups, spontaneous movie rentals/trips, and doctor's visits should you need to go. anything lower than that and you had better plan on staying home. and, of course, you might want to keep a cushion for those instances (your flat tire remember?) that you need cash badly.
but that's just my opinion. it's been years since i ever had money to live comfortably.
Good, we have a bit more than that, as long as I get a job. I'm really hoping to not be completely strapped for cash, because that's another stress I'd like to be rid of. Budgeting is my friend. So is paying the bills. -.-;
It's highly dependent on what part of California. I live in Orange County and things are crazy expensive here, but even worse in LA. The apartment you're looking at is in an area that's slightly cheaper than OC or LA (as in, I'm looking at the rent and going, "Wow, that's all they want? What's the catch?"), so there's that, but real estate all over California is in a state of insanity right now, so just to be safe you might want to have a cushion of money stashed away for when your rent goes up, because it more than likely will.
Yeah, it's actually really cheap. There are only a couple cheap places like that, and everything else is expensive. Though living in the valley is much cheaper than living in the bay, that's for sure. We're going to save until we have three times the rent before we move in... it'll take a couple months, but it's worth it.
