I’m on to you, Billy boy.
Have been from the start.
Did you honestly think I bought your act?
When you first came here, you had your fair share of demons, but I knew you were softer than you seemed. I let it go for a while. I thought you’d come around.
But you proved you’re still hopeless when you got all choked up over a bunch of worthless kids.
You tried not to show it, but your tell-tale twitch gave you away.
I changed plans in an instant.
I wasn’t born on the back forty, you know.
A smarter man might have wondered why I handed out mission details in an open meeting.
A more experienced man might have known that’s not my style.
But you, Doctor, suspected nothing. And you couldn’t have played your role any better if I’d written it.
Now, three hundred kids are still using up oxygen.
But Captain Hammer lies dead in the street.
That’s a fair trade.
Only good hero’s a dead hero.
Your betrayal was inevitable, but its reward vastly outweighed its cost.
You’ll still pay for it, though.
I’ll deal with you soon enough.
But for now… thank you, Doctor Horrible.
