How long have you had all the geese? Maybe you'd be grandfathered in? A lot of times, if you have had the geese for longer than the law existed, you're considered "grandfathered." Two or less fowl doesn't seem like much at all, which means it MAY be a newish zoning law.

It's 2007-8, yes, it's actually a City ordinance - we started getting a lot of "city" people moving to the lovely country and promptly screaming about all the country in their country living. e.e;

I would definitely claim you've had 3+ fowl in excess of the 2007 law. There's probably no one who could rebut that since the other neighbors are newer than you!

Have you talked to an attorney yet? They should be able to get you an exception.

I'm hoping it won't come to that, we don't have the money for it. We're going to do all we can.

Most attorneys will do a free consultation. After that, ask for donations -- I would throw in.
