Anything made with flour, barley, or rye. So that's all breads, cereals, pasta, doughnuts, crackers, etc etc. Gluten is also found in a lot of processed foods like canned chili, nacho cheese, BBQ sauce, pretty much anything that has a thickening agent in it. Fortunately there are a lot of gluten-free alternatives to these foods, but they can be hard to find, expensive, and sometimes they taste like shit.
We have a small natural food store in town that has a decent selection of gluten-free pasta, cake mixes, flour, cereal, and chips. My mom checked the expensive grocery store in town and said that they have quite a bit of gluten-free stuff, too. Before I knew that I ordered some stuff online but holy shit, was it expensive. I mean, gluten-free food is more expensive than regular food, but a 12x18 box of food should never cost 60 bucks!
OMG...that's insane that there's something missing from it and it's more expensive. But it's an extra step in production to take it out, I guess. Does it end up being low carb too then?
