It pains me. But no words leave my mouth. My thoughts are tangled up, like a mesh of fine wire, and they lead nowhere. There's synapses between every phrase and every sentence, but I can't make the connections, no matter how simple they get ( Read more... )

it sounds wrong/weird that i can say this but i'm almost glad to know my own family is not entirely dysfunctional alone. my grandmother has diabetes and eyesight problems too - she had her operation last year - and it was disgusting how my aunts and uncle complain willy nilly about splitting the responsibility. who cleans her house, who takes collects her prescriptions, who pays her bills etc ( ... )

My thoughts exactly. These times really reveal their true priorities. And family is definitely something that is at the bottom of the list. All they truly care about are 3 Cs. Convenience, comfort and cash. Damn.

I really hope I'll be willing next time. Hahah I don't take that as an offense, though. There's another side of her you're not aware of so it's fine. She isn't that morbid actually. Well, she's done her fair share of complaining and stuff so I guess she really does want the tables to turn, but it's definitely difficult. As you mentioned, the closely-knit feeling isn't there anymore. And I agree with you about being "modern".

Well, I hope so. And I'd better be sure my parents get a better treatment than this. :/
