It is amazing how little snow is required to shut down this whole rammed town. We are on day 2 of everything being closed. Even UPS wasn't willing to brave my street yesterday. Or maybe the driver just really wants to read Bitter Seeds ( Read more... )

Back from our 2 week trip to China. Had a great time and still feel a bit jet lagged. Had a vendor at the Silk Market in Beijing tell me. "you look like a sophisticated lady. Want to buy a track suit?"

Also, fried scorpions are good.

Yesterday I accepted a job offer and resigned from my current job. Today, the boss sent out a mass email announcing this and reassigning all my projects. So far I have gotten several congratulations, one "this is shocking," one thank you for pulling a project out of the fire before leaving, and one cussing out.

In other news, that book that Amazon emailed me the crazy range of dates for? It actually arrived on June 25th.
