Over the border in CT there are cheaper options!

And do NOT download tiny tower. Omg Addiction.

Pocket frogs is fun, tho, and I'm bored of words with friends.

Words with Friends is fun for the first month or so.

I like Yoo Ninja (or Gravity Guy -- basically the same game, not sure which is free on the iPhone, since I've got a Droid). Was really into Doodle Jump, Fruit Ninja, and Hungry Shark for a time. Also Latitudes as a way to stalk my friends. :)

this is in nova where weddings generally go over twenty k lostcosmonaut July 8 2011, 12:15:35 UTC
recently organized a wedding for ~100 guests for $3000, but this was dependent on two big factors: venue was a community center meant for use by community residents only -- one of my parent's friends vouched for us -- and there was no caterer, just planned out th food/booze menu ourselves. It was a lot of work, but friends & family helped out w/ a lot of different stuff, which I think helped them enjoy th party more. My cousin had th DJ gear, I picked th music, put it on an itunes playlist -- done! Guests ate hors d'oeuvres, danced for three hours, and den ceremony @ midnight

Long as you don't mind going outside th usual channels, you don't have to pay th wedding crimelords ...... It def helps if @ least one of you knows how to cook

yeah my original goal was to spend $3k, but now i think the least we could get away with is $5k. i wish i knew people with backyards. jonah can cook but i don't think he's comfortable cooking for that many people. i do think we can probably find a friend to do the wedding photography, and possibly someone to help with the food/cake/music/maybe even decorations or flowers. my biggest worry is venue. it does seem like the lowest rate is $5k. jonah and i are going to check out some farm things in queens etc., i'd rather get married in an outdoor setting with garden-y things than in some giant white loft in soho.

i kind of hate tumblr, i don't know why i am on there all the time. i really only like it for the small amount of contact with old lj friends.

pretty much

If I ever get married, I kind of just want a pretty small & informal/non-traditional ceremony in a nice back-garden (a friend's or my own). Our friend is ordained, so it will be strictly non-religious & vows will definitely be written ourselves.

Tumblr is such a time waster, but it is th easiest way to 'blog', ha.

ours will definitely be nonreligious. the biggest expense is finding a place to have the reception . . . i don't think we have any contacts we could use to get a cheaper rate. people don't tend to have backyards here sadly. :(

it's just depressing because once you start looking at wedding shit, it starts making more sense that the average american wedding is $27k. that sounds absolutely ridic, but once you start scanning the prices of everything . . . it just sucks. and i'm really not planning anything over the top! just food, cake, maybe music, chairs for people to sit in. i'm not even factoring flowers or decorations or "sushi bars" or anything.

We had a roach problem because the fuckers were coming through the drains. It sounds like your problem is bigger than that, but try covering your drains at night, there's a small chance it might help. A little.

i'll get some drain plugs from the drugstore, but i'm pretty sure there are some holes they are coming out of that i can't get to.
