Re: the friends thing, I should probably note that irl it's roughly equal, but if we're counting ppl I only know here on LJ, there are many more females. I guess I never really know how to talk about/label online friendships, etc.?
Strange you bring it up, b/c I was thinking about the friend/gender thing just yesterday.
i've been thinking about it for a while. i think there are a lot more girls on lj (there are probably some stats about this somewhere), so that's not so strange. still, IRL i only have 2 or 3 male friends (not counting the boyfriend).
I've only got like 5 guys on my f-list, and the rest (over 60) are girls. I've noticed I tend to cut guys often when I'm doing f-list cleaning, too. I think b/c we interact less? And I also think I trust girls more. Which hasn't always been the case. In my teens and early twenties I was mostly friends with guys.
IRL my closest friends are 3 guys (counting my husband) and 3 girls. Beyond that, everyone else is just kind of at varying levels of acquaintanceship. But I have trust issues and am very picky/intense about friends -- I don't really have the time/energy for more than a few, tho I do like being on friendly terms with lots of ppl.
I've been thinking about this b/c I've been thinking a ton about gender (roles) lately, and about how strongly (or not) I identify as female, etc. This may eventually turn into an entry/poll of my own.
yeah, i don't think i have more than 10 or 12 guys on my f-list (mostly due to lexi telling me to add them - before that i probably only had 3 or so). sometimes i wonder if it's a problem that i need to address . . . i definitely do end up trusting girls more, and i (GENERALIZATION AHEAD) tend to find them more interesting usually? i don't know. i am a pretty stereotypically girly person, though not in the "afraid of snakes/weepy negative stereotype" way. whenever a guy adds me here i wonder why, because if you take your average dude, i don't think he's gonna like my journal much.
Ha ha ha ha! My least favorite euphemism for having sex was WAY out of line with everyone else's. Mine is probably tied to reading too much shitty fanfic. I also have to throw out there that I too hate "making love." It sounds so wishy washy and like it is only at home coming out of the mouth of a virginal, thirteen year old girl.

no one likes "making love."
i think there are way more females than males on lj, so that explains that.
