I tend to be friends with men who are dating my female friends or who are Mike's friends (uh... to the extent that he has any male friends). Other than that, nearly all of my friends are female. (It doesn't hurt that I meet a lot of people through fandom.)

i never really become friends with "the boyfriends". i have like 3 male friends from swat and none from high school. and i guess some online ones.
