I claim to hate the ocean, although I'm reasonable enough to understand that what I really hate is "trips to the seaside, based on my previous experiences of them."
My annoying ex-step-father always dragged us to TEH BEACH once a year. With his family, who were even weirder and somewhat mean to me. And they loved SEAFOOD and like, fishing or shell collecting or some shit. So the beaches we went to were these COLD, ROCKY, MISERABLE places, full of JELLYFISH who STUNG ME. (I even adore/d swimming, but these places... were not fun for that.) And then we'd go out to eat seafood every night. I loathe seafood.
So basically my whole memory of "the ocean" is "cold, stinging salt, stinging sand, stinging jellyfish, and nasty food."
I imagine if I had some little secluded inlet to myself (I'm thinking Florida and SUBTROPICAL, not freaking New England) I would adore the ocean, honestly. I can even be persuaded to eat fish if it's fried. But as it stands? ... *shudders* I like to go on vacation to places with public transportation and museums
when i say i love the ocean, i think i'm referring more to the "huge body of water that we know very little about full of awesome animals that haven't yet been identified" thing. the beach can be a pretty annoying place to go (sand in bathing suit, salt in eyes, cut feet on shells, et al.) but i always enjoyed it when i was a kid. i love taking walks on the beach. cliche, but true. this was on the washington coast, so it's pretty cold.
i can't bring myself to eat shellfish or shrimp, but i love fish, lobster and crab.
You have the new one, yes? Is it just me or is that also Trent with the chopped-off hair? Does that mean everything else is extensions? I wish she'd go with the butchered hair more often.
Also, why is that one Vera Wang craziness not at Kohl's? I'd wear that!
do you mean the giant fall issue or the new one with charlize theron on the cover? i haven't looked at the theron one yet. i will have to go back and look for these particular pictures. right now, all i can remember about the fall fashion issue is those bizarre miu miu shoes on the last page.
