As Jack let himself into Kevin's flat, he hoped that he wasn't too late. When he saw Kevin looking at the bookshelves, he grinned and went to hug him from behind.
"It looks fine, love. Anything you want me to do before Hermione arrives?" He kissed Kevin's cheek and then released him, going into the kitchen to find a drink.
It had been a hectic Monday, to say the least. The weekend had been nothing short of tumultuous, what with her somewhat making up her mind about George, no matter how hard it had been, and then receiving Harry's invitation. Not to mention that it was Harry's birthday the very next day, making things even more emotionally confusing.
But she had looked forward to her meet-up with Kevin and Jack more than she could have possibly said - two boys who would not cause her heartache or confusion or drama.
Once work finally let her go - there was the nice thing about it distracting her from her incredibly confusing social life lately - she went home and changed into something less dressy and apparated over to Kevin and Jack's place, a bottle of wine in hand, knocking on the door.
Kevin turned around in Jack's embrace. "No, we're good," he said just as heard a knock at the door. "And here she is."
He padded over to door, shrugging when he realised he was still in bare feet. Oh, well, he supposed he looked decent enough in his khakis and a nice, but untucked button down blue shirt.
He opened the door. "Hermione, good to see you; come on in, Jack's just arrived."
Jack came out from the kitchen, carrying three glasses of wine. "I thought I heard you arrive, Hermione." He leaned down to kiss her cheek, then handed each of them a glass.
"To the end of another day of Wizarding bureaucracy," he said, saluting them before taking a sip.
