I love that we still don't really know who was able to force the Tardis off course.

IMDB mentions "voice of Omega (uncredited)." I am highly intrigued. I think I vaguely remember Omega from a Five episode and a Seven episode (well, then it was the Hand of Omega, which was some kind of weapon), which...I really don't remember if Omega was a Time Lord or not, but yeah. Interesting.

And yay! The Doctor traveling with a young married couple sounds like a perfectly fabulous idea. The Doctor and the honeymooners! Best of all, we get to keep Rory.

Indeed! I'm a little bit of love with Rory, and after all that's happened over the past five seasons, him and Amy are the first time I've really been tempted to write fic. (Not that I will get to the writing stage, but it's tempting.)

The slightly cynical part of me wonders if having a married couple (and engaged before that) on board is an easy way for Moffat to bring in a male Companion full-time. If it were simply the Doctor and one man, some people would read too much homoerotic subtext into it (ridiculous, but you know how some people can get.) A young woman and man as Companions also brings in a sexual angle that the BBC might not consider appropriate for a young audience. (Again, silly, since that was done in years past, but viewers have been conditioned to see sex in damn near everything.) If the woman and man are already a committed couple -- indeed, a ( ... )

Yup, you're right -- that theory was pretty ridiculous. I'm coming at it as a casual viewer, without really thinking it all through or paying attention to the details. ;)

Many of the previous companions definitely had a sexual subtext that was pretty obvious at times. I was thinking about it terms of the average 7-year-old viewer, but the argument still doesn't hold up well.

I'm also not a fan of the damsel-in-distress thing, particularly how often it seemed we saw that with Amy. I do like the pattern of female companions, just for the gender parity. It'll be interesting to see how having Amy and Rory there together will affect the dynamics of the show in this incarnation.

I'm sorry, but you have to watch the episodes with Two and Jamie, their hands were all OVER each other constantly. ;)

The Orient Express in Space mentioned at the end, if I heard it right, sounds like a wonderful honeymoon adventure for Rory and Amy, with The Doctor exercising the Little Grey Cells.
