WOW! Love this. It's an absolutely brilliant way to bring happiness to Rose and Alt Nine. I love the way you had them meet and the way the Doctor was so intrigued by her, even before they met. The scene where he read her thoughts was incredibly well written and the intensity of the emotion that you captured was absolutely stunning.
I love the fact that you built up their relationship slowly, showing their gradual comfort and acceptance for one another as well as the way they were healing each other just by being in each other's presence.
This line, in particular, stood out to me:
“Doctor, I won’t promise you forever because I don’t have a forever to give.” He turns his head to meet her eyes, and she goes on. “All I can promise you in my now. It’s yours as long as it’s mine to give.” such a poignant and beautiful way to describe their situation. Amazing

Thank you. I hoped the relationship would work for people. Her added maturity and his more desperate need really bonded them, and I enjoyed watching them come closer together.
This Rose recognizes there's no such thing as "forever." She gives the Doctor a promise she can keep instead of the one her heart wants to give. Which is sad, in a way, but also beautifully truthful.
There may be more of these two--they kind of captured my heart in the writing. As for Tony, I think it's safe to say that kid has no chance at a "normal" life. But he'll sure have a lot of fun.
Thanks for being my First Reader! That comm really helped light a fire under me so this one got done. Final draft clocked in at 7,388 words. Feels so good to write again!
They're sweet, aren't they? I like the more adult feel of them in this story. Rose is older, he's less prone to treating her like an inexperienced child--leads to good things. Like sex!
