Oh, I LOVED that! Honestly, this would've been an infinitely more satisfying "ending" for Rose (not that I don't love Ten or human!Ten, because I do. ;) But Rose is always going to belong with Nine a little bit more in my eyes, what can I say? ;) )
I loved their uncertainty with each other and how she made that connection that if she could accept her original Doctor regenerating, then she could accept this alternate version of him. I also loved how she realized that her maturity put her on more even footing with him than she'd been when she'd met the Doctor at her original young age and how their partnership blossomed in all senses of the word. :D
“If you break into a Spice Girls song, you’re off at the next planet.”
I literally LOLed at that because not only did the Spice Girls start playing through my head as I read the line right before it but I could just SO hear him say that! ;)
Thank you! I so loved Rose with Nine, and though I love her with Ten as well, Nine/Rose will ever be my favorite. This Rose, a few years older and having grown up in more than one way, is definitely more of an equal for him--which helps spark their relationship into the physical realm.
Once I wrote the line about what Rose "really, really" wants, the next line was inevitable. No choice about it, really.
I told wendymr that the thing streaking over Bristol appears (in my mind, at least) to be the opening salvo of one Captain Jack Harkness's latest con, so it's possible there'll be more adventures of my favorite Team TARDIS.
Thanky! That line struck me as sort of a fun reversal--she loses her shoe not running away from the ball, but running *to* the Prince. It came about because of the sheer practicality of leaving one's high heels behind when running is necessary, and I loved the fairy-tale resonance of it.
Now that was tremendously satisfying. I do love me a fantastic alt!Nine/Rose story and you did yourself proud, hon. That Spice Girls quip was priceless and I'm still giggling over it. I loved the way they came together gradually, but not too slowly and how easily they settled into a life together. Plus some lovely loving going on between them. I'd love to see more of these two together.
Glad you liked! I wanted their relationship to grow gradually and for their becoming lovers to grow out of that. They're two people who realize they need each other.
