My Fifteenth book for ljbookbingo is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith for the Made Into a Movie Square, table found here:

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. That is, until Seth Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln, and became the first living person to lay eyes on it in more than 140 years.
Using the journal as his guide and writing in the grand biographical style of Doris Kearns Goodwin and David McCullough, Seth has reconstructed the true life story of our greatest president for the first time-all while revealing the hidden history behind the Civil War and uncovering the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. ~Amazon Book Description

I don't know about this one. I heard of this book a few years ago and ever since I have wanted to read it. I thought the concept was novel and kind of fun. Now that I've read it I am a bit confused.  There were certain things I liked. I liked Henry and his relationship with Abe. The way they interacted and sparred was always interesting. My problem was every time I read the words Abraham Lincoln I was immediately taken out of the story. I think I have read to many history books, and to many biographies about Lincoln and the Civil War. I couldn't separate the fictional Lincoln from the real so I could never really become absorbed in the story. That is not the books fault that's mine, so maybe this book just wasn't for me. Others may like it though. So I am on the fence about this one.
