Fic: Lost and Found

Lost and Found
Summary: You know what they say about wishes and horses.
Follows Negative Space because I just felt so bad leaving poor Sam like that. Is not exactly a happy tale, though.

That was just as good and heart-wrenching as the first. Awesome follow up.

Thank you so much! I apparently have no qualms whatsoever about putting Sammy through the wringer, but people seem to enjoy it so very much...

That seems to be the consensus. That poor kid.

It so is. But Sam's had 20-odd years of living in a terrible reality, so maybe he's earned himself a little bit of a beautiful dream. ;)

There are worse ways to go.

Wait, I'm confused! Is the Djinn induced world the one with Dean in it, or is the the Djinn induced world the one without Dean? Either way this fic is awesome! ----From the comments which I just now read, I believe that Sam is in the Djinn happy dream world. I just wanted to believe he truly got to have a Dean in his life after all, but nooooooo, we can't have a happy Sam, can we!

I have to say, you seem to take certain favorite themes of this fandom, and make them seem so real and so awful! It is so impressive. I just love your writing!

Also, I forgot to say your characterization of the Winchesters is impeccable.

Wow! I worry about my characterization sometimes--I feel like there are lots of authors out there who do it better, so it means a lot to hear that it works for you. Smartass!Dean is a blast to write, too, especially when Sam's just about having nervous breakdown. Hee!

Anyway, yes, I did intend this to be Sam in Djinn-town, but I do also really like the idea that maybe it's the Dean-less world that is a dream and...wow, that opens up a whole new possibility and now I kinda want to write that too. (No promises, though.)

Thanks very much for your kind and awesome comments! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. ^^

Oh this is an echo of What is and Should never be, except for this Sam, you do end up thinking he's better off grasping this brief moment where his Dean is finally real and he gets what his Dad promised for all those years. Dean in WISNB had Sam to go back to when he woke up, this Sam has nobody.
Still bloody sad though!

It *is* sad, but in this case I definitely think the alternative is so much worse. Sammy! *wibbles*

It's saying something when my own fics make me want to fix things. A Sam without a Dean is only half-a-Sam.

Glad you liked this!
