Void
Summary: Short fic for the s7 Finale meme. Prompt: Sam raises Dean from purgatory and drags him to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately Dean's brain filter on monster talk seems to have been left behind in purgatory and he tells the hospital staff exactly how he got in the shape he's in and keeps asking for an angel named Cas.

Dean's POV here is so harsh & so painful but so right.

Yeah, he's definitely not right in the head here. Glad it made sense at least. Thanks so much!

SAM WAS SO BIG AND STRONG AND HANDSOME, WITH THE CLEVER CLEVER BRAVE KNIGHT-IN-SHINING-ARMOUR SAVING OF DEEEAN.

That's 'cuz I took out the bit where he dealt with the guard by bouncing his head off the dashboard. ;)That seemed more of a Dean sort of thing to do.

Thanks for reading!

“I wonder if he remembers me,” Dean says. OH. DEAN.

I want them to rescue Cas and they can both be screwed-up in the head together. And Sam can manage things, because he's awesome like that.

Oooh, yanno, this would make Show feel like a total reversal from before. They actually just might do something like this...Dean and Cas barely hanging on, through nightmares and PTSD and injury, and Sam? He perseveres and takes control and becomes their protector. We shall see!

This is what I think would happen if their universe was "real" instead of something that has to have storylines, plots, B-plots, and that needs to fit into 40 minute slots.

Heartbreaking, and scary. Poor, confused Dean.

Well, if they did that, the viewership would be deeply distressed, I suspect. But man, I wish the storylines reflected reality a bit more, at least from the trauma and psychological end. There's so much raw material there going to waste, y'know? *sigh*

Thanks for reading! Glad you enjoyed it.
