Summary: Short fic for the s7 Finale meme. Prompt: Sam raises Dean from purgatory and drags him to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately Dean's brain filter on monster talk seems to have been left behind in purgatory and he tells the hospital staff exactly how he got in the shape he's in and keeps asking for an angel named Cas.

I've never written blind!Dean before, and have no idea why I decided to do so here. But it seemed to work...

wow, you managed to show perfectly how broken Dean is. I loved it that he called out for Cas all the time... and all the little hints about how bad it had been in purgatory. Plus Sam saving him in the end... loved it.

Aw, thank you. I like the idea of him having an emotional dependence on Cas based around the idea of survival. And needing Sam to rescue him because he's too far gone to think of rescuing himself--tasty! Glad you enjoyed, thanks so much for reading!

This was great. Very bleak, but it draws you in hard. The last line of course is great in how simple it is and how much it conveys.

And of course I love Sam taking care of business.

It kind of is all about that last line. And yes, Sam taking care of things because he is AWESOME and CAPABLE is something I wish we'd see more of in fic. I'm making it a mission to write as much of it into my stuff as possible. ;) Thanks so much!

There's an imaginary follow-up to this about Sam cataloging all the changes in his brother and all the things he's missing, and looking for evidence that Dean is still Dean. If I make it through my exams I may sit down and write that.
