RL and Goodbye

Feb 29, 2012 01:21

In about a week (or as soon as I recover from this flare), I'll be doing a massive f-list cut. I've held on for too long (years) some hope that I'd return to LJ with art and rejoin fandom, but RL has intervened in the worst way and I'd just feel more comfortable with a handful of folks reading the personal stuff. I've already got filters set, but I ( Read more... )

...Could I stay? I do read your posts, even if I'm awfully quiet. And we have a mutual friend in common! If you do cut me, I do understand. But I'd like to stay, if you would let me?

Absolutely. I read yours as well, even though I'm crap at commenting. (And who could resist that icon?)

Well, of course, I'd like to keep reading. And FWIW I think you'd look pretty hot bald.

I think you're one of the few family members I wouldn't mind reading my stuff. No worries. ;) And thanks - if I do shave my head, I'll leave it to you to rationally explain to the family why it had to be done.

"She wanted to feel like she was in control of it rather than feeling like it was in control of her. I think that's smart." There, done! but happy to tell them myself if it comes up.

I don't always comment much, but I am always thinking of you so if you'll have me remain, I'd like to stay. <3

My mom rocked the bald look fairly well and she even found her own style, hats instead of scarves, which made her feel better during treatment. I'm glad you're getting a lot of support, both human and feline.

Not a problem. I don't comment much either, which I wish I were better at.

I'm probably going to have to lose a lot more hair before hubby is on board with the head shaving idea - but I'm mentally preparing myself now for when it happens.

Love you, sweetie. I really do.

I think with your glasses, you'd be damn cute bald. :) And there's the head covering site for something fun as well.

I'm sorry that answers haven't yielded a cure, but it's good that you know and can at least recognize what it is when it happens.

Of course you're staying, silly. ;)

Hubby isn't on board at all with my shaving my head - he thinks I'm overreacting, and he says he can't tell I'm losing my hair (coming from the man who NEVER looks in the mirror at himself, who has never noticed when I get my hair cut, and has trouble remembering what color my eyes are...he just doesn't pay attention to features.) He has admitted it looks "feathery", but doesn't seem to equate the feathery fine hair with having lost 3/4 of the volume. And dammit, I had gorgeous hair.

I'm mentally preparing myself now for a future shave. I'm trying one last-ditch effort to save my hair through other means, and after a few months we'll know if that's a loss. But I need to mentally prepare for this - thoroughly - before I do it. Unless I start losing it in clumps - then yeah, it's off, and I don't care what hubby says.

And for the record, I just f*cking hate this disease. I hate it so much. And I know you understand all too well.

(...trouble remembering what color your eyes are? is there anyone in the family who DOESN'T have startlingly blue eyes? I mean I'm terrible at noticing eye color myself -- I JUST realized that one of my best friends has blue eyes and found this surprising -- but you, G, C, V -- this is not *subtle*.)

Actually I have hazel-green eyes. ;) No blue here. Hubby guessed pink, so you're at least within a closer color spectrum.
