My ex-sis-in-law made Guinness Corned Beef one year. They lived about two feet from the second biggest St. Patty's day parade in the country, too. I ain't Irish, but hey, who cares? Lol!
Hee, thanks! The boss teases me relentlessly, but when-EVER we have a special/need a sign, he grabs me the second I walk in and asks me to do it up, lol. I haz skillz, yo. :D
One customer gets what she's deemed as a 'fake Rueben', with lettuce instead of sauerkraut. I don't like sauerkraut (or any German food, really--it's all vinegar-based! My grandpa was German and his fave foods were made of 98.5% vinegar :P) but the lettuce sounded too weird... 'til I made it, and it smelled so strangely GOOD. :P
Being from Brooklyn/NYC, the land of all things deli, the reuben is one of those great inventions you just take for granted. I just don't like swiss cheese so if I get it, I leave that off. But I'm 3/4 German (besides being 100% Jewish), and vinegar runs in our veins. I love it!

I'm going to go buy some corned beef and cabbage to fix here at home. I love that stuff.
