The world was quieter this way. Intrusive and disturbing thoughts that had once plagued Casey’s mind--screamed in Casey’s mind--were now fading, leaving him feeling peaceful and calm. He looked to Zeke, who was wearing a real, honest-to-goodness smile.
“It’s… good,” Casey said in a cool, dreamy voice.
Zeke nodded and put his forehead to his. Casey could feel the warmth of his breath roll over his nose and mouth, making something finally fit. Casey wasn’t thinking of his fears or doubts… just the bliss of new life, and how nice it was to feel Zeke’s fingers brushing over his cheek.
