Arthur didn't make habit of being late, per say, but it'd been rather hard to find a decent razor to shave with on the caravan. To say he was tired of his surroundings was an understatement - the situation made him anxious, having to wait until they arrived at Loophole for anything productive to occur. He'd already tried things his way - and it obviously hadn't worked. Mal had disappeared just as quietly as she'd arrived, and her brief appearance had caused more complexities than he was comfortable with.

Then again, this entire situation was unnatural. Bonnie, at least, seemed like a normal girl - a relative constant despite their surroundings.

He was about a minute past their decided time before making it to the landing, spotting Bonnie right away. "Hey," he greeted, looking apologetic. "Sorry. You weren't waiting too long, were you?"

At Arthur's appearance, Bonnie smiled brightly. She'd never been very good at masking her feelings, no matter how hard she'd tried. Her best friends had always advised her that when she was around boys, she should pretend like she couldn't care less about whether they came or went, but in the end, Bonnie had never managed a very good poker face.

"Hi!" she chirped, rising to her feet and gesturing for him to come over. "Not long at all."

With an absent gesture, Bonnie smoothed down the front of her dress and adjusted the blue ribbon around her waist. There, that was better. "Though it isn't as if you would have been keeping me away from my busy desk job, anyway."

Bonnie's biggest complaint about the caravan was how boring it was. No television, no radio, not even a bowling alley.

Arthur returned the smile with a small quirk of his lips. Bonnie seemed young, but he did consider her to be a figurative breath of fresh air. She, at least, seemed to line up both time-wise and world-wise to him, and she was someone he didn't have to overanalyze. There was a certain amount of simplicity to it that he liked, even if his initial intentions had been to find more information on Peck.

"True," he said with a small scoff of a laugh as he approached. "Makes you miss the cubicle, right?"

Office humor from Arthur. Bonnie felt pleased with herself--that was a big step up from the monosyllabic responses that he had given her when they first started talking.

"At least in a cubicle, you know that you're going home at five," she quipped, pushing a few curls behind her ear. Of course, they popped right back out as soon as she drew her hand away.

She folded her hands behind her back, turning a bit from side to side. Well, this was a good start. Arthur seemed to be in a good mood. She'd just have to make sure not to ruin everything biting someone, or letting her fangs pop out.

After a moment, Bonnie leaned forward, whispering conspiratorially, "It's nice to see you when we don't have fish tails."
