Summary: Bonnie convinced Arthur to go on another date. One where they don't smell like fish.
Bonnie was never on time for anything. Fashionably late, she used to call it. Just plain late, her friend Matt would always add in that dry tone of his. Still, Arthur seemed like he had one of those Type A personalities, so Bonnie had taken extra measures to make sure she was on time. She was freshly bathed, with her curls tied back at the nape of her neck with a white ribbon. Bonnie had found the ribbon in the laundry room, and it perfectly matched the white tea dress that Bonnie had arrived in. She'd even fed a little bit off of Cassandra the night before, just so she wouldn't be too tempted by Arthur's neck. The guy was clearly smart, and Bonnie was pretty sure he wouldn't be too pleased to find out what she really was.
She arrived ten minutes ahead of schedule and was sitting on one of the couches in the second floor lobby, lightly swinging her legs and humming a song. Bonnie found herself looking forward to Arthur's arrival. Sure, he was a little up tight and he definitely could use a drink or two, but he was cute as a button and interesting and he'd loosened up a bit since their first meeting. Bonnie took that last one as a personal accomplishment.
Bonnie fiddled with her lapis lazuli ring, twisting it around her finger, but every few moments, she would look up to peer around and see if Arthur had arrived yet. She scowled a bit. Still not there.
Borderline, Bonnie sang quietly. Feels like I'm going to lose my mind. You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline.
Madonna was a very good distraction.
