Finn shrugged. He got the feeling that Kurt might hit him if he said it was a real pearl-- in that way that people do when you've done 'too much' for them --so he left it up to fate or something.

At least he seemed to like it. Finn had definitely caught that big smile. Actually, now that he thought of it, he'd never seen Kurt smile like that. He'd seen him turn over his shoulder and smirk and force a smile at one of his jokes (oh yeah, he knew Kurt was faking) but this was...

It sounded mean to call it genuine, but he couldn't think of anything else ( ... )

And Finn was trying to cram an entire sandwich-half in his mouth. Horrified, Kurt barely managed to catch his disgust before forcing his expression to neutralise.

"It was very thoughtful of you," he remarked, distracting himself by setting the corset on his bed, atop the duvet, and staring at it in awe. He took a moment to wonder who Finn got to help him, or who even knew him well enough to know that a corset was an impeccable choice of gift, then decided that even if the thought wasn't Finn's alone, it was the thought that counted. No man ought to looke a geuen hors in the mouth, or something.

Whatever, proverbs were rarely not flawed.

"And Finn?" Kurt looked over his shoulder, the hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "I forgive you."

While Kurt put the corset down, Finn focused on getting his sandwich down. He hadn't thought the huge bite through at all and, despite having a pretty big mouth, he was having a pretty hard time of it.

So when Kurt said he was forgiven, he had to catch himself before he grinned and exposed a mouthful of cheese and bread and grease. Smiling broadly, he shrugged a little and swallowed the last bit of sandwich. Finn cleared his throat and said, "Well, I'm glad. It was super dumb of me to do that, I know." He gestured vaguely, shrugging again.

Then he glanced at the present, something clicking into place. "I didn't get that just so you'd forgive me, to be clear." It was true, and he didn't want Kurt to assume he was being like, selfish here.

"I know," Kurt responded wistfully, spinning on his heel and taking a long, deep breath. "I'm entirely convinced it was from the deepest frontiers of your heart." And he was, because Finn wasn't one for grand, sweeping gestures. He'd always been a just because kind of guy.

It was amiable, and a little bit romantic.

Speaking of.

"Have you seen Rachel, lately?" He asked curiously, tugging at the cuff of his shirt. "I haven't heard from her, which in and of itself is terrifying."

Finn looked down, wincing slightly. He hadn't heard from Rachel in a while, and while his instincts usually said that that was for a reason-- like, if Puck was avoiding him, he just needed his 'alone' time and it'd be a really bad idea if he followed him into a bathroom at school or something just to say 'hi' --and since he already kind of felt bad for hanging out with Rachel so much what with Quinn and the baby...

Well, he assumed doing nothing would be the best option.

"I got her a present too. I went looking for her and...I dunno." Biting his lip, he mumbled, "D'you think it's like Miss P?"
