Finn found himself raising an eyebrow at the woman's comment. Shouldn't he be older? Like, logically? But whatever, he didn't really know what their story was and maybe there was some weird time thing, like with him and Kurt.

Oh yeah. Finn was probably younger than the last time Kurt saw him, by that logic. Weird.

Speaking of weird, Kurt ripping his hand away like that was...weird. Definitely out of the ordinary. Kurt was usually so...well, he wasn't sure what the word was, but when he was around Finn, Kurt was kind of extra-nice. This was just further confusing him after the incident in the cells.

Finn noticed Ianto wasn't getting yelled at for standing in front of them. Not that Cassandra seemed dangerous.

"Finn Hudson," Kurt piped in, taking a step forward and gesturing over his shoulder. "And Kurt Hummel." For a moment he wondered if he'd gone delirious from inhaling the nail polish fumes Mercedes had forced him to breathe before he'd come here -- twelve coats, twelve coats it'd taken her to find the right shade of purple to match her heels, never say he didn't love the girl -- because people didn't get younger, they got older. Of course, then he realised Finn was younger than he remembered, too.

He really wanted to understand this concept of nonlinearity on some level, any level, but the incomprehensibility of it all was overwhelming.

Still, physics aside, or defying the laws of, Kurt couldn't help the small smile the crept over his face when Ianto put his arms out.

Younger. What, then, somewhere he and Jack were growing old together in perfect domestic bliss? Signed the Registry, adopted a couple of kids? God. What kind of a place had Cassandra come from?

Okay. Probably an overreaction. She hadn't even mentioned Jack.

Protecting Kurt and Finn like that had been an overreaction too. Ianto hadn't even realised he was doing it until her open-palmed gesture, which had at least been subtle. Made sense that he'd done it, though. While he hadn't expected any sort of physical harm from her, he still found her slightly terrifying. What did she know?

"We were in the same cell," Ianto explained. He wasn't quite sure what to say about the fact that the boys were following him. They weren't unwelcome, exactly, but he was no one's father, and he hadn't exactly done a bang-up job handling sixteen when he had been sixteen. Not that either of them had much in common with his former self. He never would have followed someone out of that cell. Wouldn't have been able to muster enough faith in anyone but himself ( ... )

Cassandra gave a courteous nod to each of the boys. It seemed that the smaller one, the one that could have been Ianto's nephew, was the alpha of the two. His accent was different from Ianto's, so she supposed they probably weren't connected after all. As for the large one, she couldn't say. Perhaps some sort of body guard for the smaller one, judging by the way that he was handled. Of course, anyone that Ianto deemed worthy of protecting, Cassandra would consider an ally, but she was still quite curious. That, however, would have to wait ( ... )

Finn got the impression that this woman was addressing Kurt and not him for a specific reason. And he was pretty certain it wasn't a good reason. In fact, it was the same kind of feeling he got when people talked to Quinn instead of him.

It was the feeling that people thought he was too stupid to think for himself.

So, raising an annoyed eyebrow, Finn answered for them. "We're from Earth. Ohio. Lima. And it was 2009." Hesitation. "Well, for me, anyway."
