I like your story - it's got a kind of floating mood, things to feel, but hard to grasp. It is always a fascinating way of writing - there aren't many writers like that. Thanks for posting it.

I can't do it. I can't read a whole story of yours through without pausing to exclaim. I was trying to, but the plaudits kept piling up. The surprised sprays of citrus. That was the first that made a completely new pathway in my brain, something I had never known before that is really important. The beautiful, "almost slow" fall of the criminal. Oh. The certainty that this is the one thing Sherlock need not apologize for.

You make new things in my brain.

The citrus bit is my favourite, to be honest. The grandmother and her orange. The rest of it I'm not too keen on, but I really like the bit where they're on the tram, hot and foreign.
