Maybe it's the weather, maybe tis the season...maybe it's the air of depression pervading through personalities and bank accounts all around me...BUT for whatever reason, I have become addicted to reading the fluffiest, slice of life shoujo manga I can find ( Read more... )

Duuuuuuuude Nana is awesome my gf showed me that and i must say...it's some tough shtick with Rock star Nana..im pretty sure she has a bit of a different name to differentiate them. But holy crap i have to admit..::coughs:: when nana saw her ex on stage and he didn't see her but she saw him. I kinda had to tear up ::scratches head:: I kinda know how that feels to not be noticed like that. But anyways yeah...the nana movie is quite the jawesomeness and i need to check out the manga..::rubs chin::

Heee! Yesss, that part is so sad! And oh man, the manga really is adorable, I swear! (I generally like Ai Yazawa's stuff better in manga form, on account of it just...looks prettier when she draws it. Doesn't really translate to animation as well, to my thinking... But, ahh, I love it all!

And yesss, hardcore!Nana goes by Nana or Nana O. (her last name is Osaki I think) and Nana K goes by Hachi ^^

Ah i thought. I also suggest two korean romantic comedy films she also showed me

Windstruck and My Sassy Girl. I honestly thought My Sassy Girl was going to be...a meh..chick flick (i don't mind them i watched Kamikaze Girls another awesome movie) But it turned out equally awesome.

For some reason we theorize tat Windstruck and My Sassy Girl are linked up somehow..they seem like spiritual sequels...but yesh

My Sassy Girl, Windstruck, Kamikaze Girls definite you should give a looksie.

Dude, you know, my roommate the second half of junior year was all over My Sassy Girl too! I think they recently must have made some kinda crap american version recently too, because damned if I didn't see the dvd in the bookstore today, only to find it was some bizarre US movie...But with a title like that...could it really belong to two unrelated movies ^^;;;

And I have been meaning to watch Kamikaze girls for years! YEARS I TELL YOU!!! And never heard for Windstruck but I like the title! It's pretty!! I shall look into these!!! ^^

ARRRGH!!! *ships Hachi/Nobu* I find myself yelling at this manga out loud more than anything I've ever read ever. IT IS JUST THAT MUCH OF A SOAP OPERA!!! (and I love it ^^)

That honey and clover shit looks like awesome sorta guilty pleasure fun! And man, those kids look young, but I think in that way it's a little more realistic cause all the friends that I have who are our age...all look like little children...I get mistaken to be like a 17 year old all the time XD
Also, do you recommend the manga over the anime or vice versa?

ooooohhh, nana. I actually need to get up on it more cause I've read only a little bit past where the movie stops. I love that movie though XD And that's where I learned about Mika. That woman...that woman is soooo flippin' sexy...

I really feel like I should keep reading Fruits Basket too. I stopped at like vol. 13 because I was getting sort of impatient with it but everyone tells me it gets so so so good!

Hehhe, I had a girl tell me the other day that I could be either 17 or 19, but UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES 18. She was very serious about this. I don't remember why though ( ... )

I know! I need to get on the basket!...the FRUITS basket...that is...

slap me. just do it XD

I think reading about struggle/emo is a way to feel not so bad about your own...that's why I read it...

And, sadly, no. I don't know of any happy squishy reading material right now. I haven't read manga in ages O_O

But I like Strawberry Panic...more than I should XD It's about girls at a catholic school being quasi-gay with each other...I don't even know if it has a real plot...but there's love triangles galore! and i'ma-try-and-kiss-you-right-now-but-oh!-it's-been-interrupted-by-something-aggravating-and-stupid moments are prevalent.

Ahahahah, Strawberry Panic, you say? Oh man, I am on it. Damn you delayed love triangles!! GRAAA!! *throws things* I will ALWAYS take the love triangles over the plot. Heee, seriously, plots are for the weak. Gimme the angst and cute!! ^^
