Oh. Oh. Ohhhh.

This has to be one of the best takes on the events surrounding FINA that I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading! I love how even though this was a reflective piece, you didn't have Holmes step a toe out of character or go ridiculously maudlin, only kept this quietly introspective. And kept everything in line with Canon, while still managing to make this seem so fresh.

I'm also more than a little tempted to have a good cry. But I mean that in the best possible way, because even with that epilogue, this was absolutely bittersweet and affecting all the way through. Not an easy feat to pull off, considering all the fics out there revolving around the hiatus. This one though... just, wow.

Oh, wow. I'm really flattered :). You know, I'm so glad you're saying that, because I did wonder whether or not the world really needs another FINA fic. But it is fascinating to transfer ideas back and forth between canon and BBC, and I liked the BBC take on the Holmes/Moriarty relationship.

And FINA is just a bittersweet story, isn't it? I suppose that's why we all love it so much.

I really liked this, especially how it was so obvious to the reader how Watson felt for Holmes but he remained oblivious, and his not understanding how pretending to be dying would hurt Watson. A nicely different take on Reichenbach and the things leading up to it that Watson doesn't get to see.

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for telling me! It's not so easy to write something new about Reichenbach, there are so many great fics out there... so it's nice to know I managed at least to some degree. :)
