Glad you like it! Yes, well, lavvyan specifically asked for a happy ending, otherwise I might have left the epilogue out - I wasn't too sure of it. But I'm beginning to like it, too (after my beta told me about a dozen times that it's fine, really). So I do appreciate your kind words. :)

Oh, how I love this! That Holmes lets himself be ensnared so easily in his perceived abandonment, that he and Moriarty engage in the politest, oddest sort of wooing ever known to man, and that Moriarty actually sees Watson as his opponent, not Holmes. That last bit was simply fabulous, especially since you'd already made it so clear how effortlessly Watson understands Holmes.

What a great gift, thank you very much!

You are welcome! I'm really happy you enjoyed this modest gift, seeing that you actually deserve a novel and I lack the time and skill to write one. :-)

And yes, I rather like the idea (taken from BBC) that Holmes, while largely immune to physical seduction, would be very much prone to a mental attempt. Also that he and Moriarty are more or less two sides of the same coin, seperated largely by the choices they make.

This is just wonderful! Fantastic voices and satisfyingly reflective and complex... wow! Love the layers of moral and philosophical thought you've woven together with Holmes's own contemplation of the meaning (the true meaning) of attachment and love. Beautifully written. Brava!

Thank you so much! I'm glad it worked for you. One can never know with fics that have a bit of a philosophical bend - which I didn't even intend, originally, but when it came up, I thought I'd as well deal with it :-) .

This is a most enjoyable read. I'm always looking for good Reichenbach/Empty house stories, and this one is brilliant. I really like how you portrayed Holmes, Watson and Moriarty, and the way you referred to the Granada and BBC versions is nothing short of great, (I do so love these series). Still, thank God the ending is as happy as I needed it to be, otherwise I would be in tears right now.

Thank you very much for sharing!

It seems that every writer needs to contribute their Reichenbach story... :-)
But maybe that's because we all want to have a reasonable explanation that doesn't make Holmes look like a jerk. Anyway, I'm glad you liked my version, and thanks for telling me!

Thank you! Yes, I rather like the idea that Holmes would catalogue and make a study of Watson's facial expressions without Watson even realizing it. Of course he'd be an expert after so many years...
