The Art of Saying No While Waiting For a Yes

I have no idea where this little story diddy came from, but it wouldn't leave me until I wrote it down and since I wrote it down then I might as well post it.  I sat down and wrote this in about an hour so it hasn't been beta'd or edited.  I'm sure it is a mess...but here it is...whatever it is.

really nice Mark/Callie friendship all about Lexie, even if I hated that she suggested he gave up on Lexie, I also understand that she was trying to be his friend and not see him get hurt again.

I'm also glad that Mark said no, the title's perfect btw.;)

Thanks for reading and commenting. I like the Mark/Callie friendship and Callie has always tried to steer him right when it comes to Lexie, whether it was for him to tell Lexie he still loved her or telling him to back off because he's moving to fast. But she always ends up supporting him, whatever his decision. But she does hate to see him hurt and I don't think anyone has hurt him more than Lexie. So I can see her being protective of him.

I'm glad Mark said no to the sex too. I hate deciding on titles for fics, they all sound lame. LOL So thanks for liking this title.

This is brilliant, Holly. Forgive me because I just woke up and I may start rambling. First, the title is brilliant. My titles are always such crap so I am always envious of people for their titles that are just perfect - like this one. I don't watch the show and I've been staying away from stories that have to do with it but you haven't written anything in so long and I wanted to encourage you to keep doing it - as if my opinion means anything lol This was just so wonderful. I love the Mark/Callie friendship so much but... I don't know. I read some of Mere's S6 CRF stories and Callie seems to hate Lexie for no reason whatsoever. Or she's just protective of Mark. I don't know. I never really have been a fan of Callie though so my opinion is a little tainted. Anyway, I love the idea of Lexie wearing jeans and Mark thinking she has the perfect ass. I just love these two. Are they ever going to get back together? Thanks for the awesome read on this very cold Saturday morning :)

M'kay, so I'm wandering the internet and see that you've posted a little somethin', so naturally I had to read it :-) This was a great take on this last episode. I love Mark's logic LOL. I totally get where Callie is coming from, but she's clearly wrong, and Mark knows what he's talking about. I love the idea that Lexie has been wearing jeans and strategically placing her ass in situations where Mark would see it. LOVE that. I love what he said about taking a chance on getting hurt with Lexie rather than feeling nothing with anyone else. So true, but I have faith that things will go better for both of them this time around :-)

I feel the need to mention that little story called "Unforgettable," but I understand when you lose that lovin' feeling for a fic, and I don't want to be a nudge, so I'll leave it at that, but seriously...

Write more. Great job!

Thanks for reading and commenting! It was just a little diddy I couldn't get out of my mind so I quickly wrote it down last night. I didn't think anyone would think it was any good so I didn't publicize it (like posting it on your website). But I'm so happy you liked it. How can anyone dispute Mark's logic? LOL

I think I have given up on "Unforgettable". I have absolutely no inspiration for it. At least not now. Maybe one day, but I'm not going to pressure myself because the more I pressure myself the more I just shut down when it comes to this fic.

Thanks again!

I should probably clarify myself and tell you that my "Write more" was meant to be a general request LOL, not for you to write "Unforgettable" if you're not feeling it :-)

LOL, yeah I knew what you meant! Don't worry, I'm not feeling pressured by you.

I really like this piece and how you juxtaposed Mark and Callie's situations. And I especially love that Mark stays true to Lexie...a sign that they really are meant to be together :)

Thank you so much for writing this!

Thanks for reading and commenting Kel. I really didn't think much about this fic. It popped into my head and I couldn't get rid of it so I wrote it. But I know in my head I was very clear that Mark now knows that moving on just for the sake of moving on isn't worth much if the one you move on to isn't someone you want to be with. I like that he's waiting on Lexie, not pressuring her but not pushing her away and accepting the little things and little signs and enjoying it as it comes. I also love that to him, it is all very logical and is a journey to a destination that he wants more than anything. A life with Lexie.

Again, thanks for reading and taking the time to comment!

Thank you so much for your comment. I enjoyed writing that little diddy. Of course that was before I knew Callie was going to jump his bone on the show. Thanks for reading and commenting!
