Well I just got back from the new otolaryngologist and while this guy definitely seemed to be more on the ball, the options I have are rather limited. First of all, I definitely have hearing loss and the hearing loss is not uniform, it is more pronounced in the right ear which is indicative of noise damage. I hope the steroids work for you.
I have reduced high frequency in my non-headphone cup ear, most likely from being just a few feet away from the screaming highs and honking mids of a monitor half my life.

Yeah I think that is part of the issue as well, the non-headphone ear is the bad one.
