For some reason, I like reading these kind of fics... the "what if CLOUD had died and ZACK had lived" thing... I guess I'm as twisted as you are
Though I just can't see Zack getting that depressed (well, canon!Zack), who really knows how he'd have been the man he loved had died, after a whole year's struggle and effort to ensure he lived? *wibbly eyes* @_@

Canon Zack would probably have been sad for a while, and then probably would gotten over it. The whole "He's in a better place now" thing and all is how I can see Zack having handled that.

Now the Zack I liked picture would probably be devastated, since he's already lost Angeal and all of that.

Like I said, I laugh in the face of canon, mostly because they can never ever keep it straight. Kind of gives me hope that maybe Zack never did die, and it was all just a big over sight.
