"Artwing, I should've guessed."
"Come on, Aurelianus," the reporter said, lifting the heavy contraption around her neck. "You're treating a national hero, and you expected me not to find out?"
Cindy "Buzzard" Artwing was infamous for her tenacity. She'd stay at disaster areas taking dozens of pictures long after sensible citizens took shelter elsewhere.
"One picture for the masses?"
"I just implanted a new eyeball; I don't want you blinding him just yet."
"If you open the blinds, I won't need to use the flash."
Aurelianus turned to his still-groggy patient. "It's your call."
Blinking mismatched eyes, the simulacrum nodded.
