There was a large crack in the living room ceiling, and this would not do. Cole certainly did not want the possibility of any plaster falling and hitting Phoebe, so he was determined to fix it this morning. am was hanging back in the entryway, leaning on the handle of the vacuum cleaner and watching Cole with the hints of a tiny smile twitching about the corners of his mouth.

Cole caught sight of her as he came out for a fresh piece of drywall. "Callisto!" he said. "Fancy meeting you here." He was disappointed she wasn't dressed up like a waitress.
