Glad you're back. Lost my old dog last year. Had to get another one after 6 months. Just couldn't take the emptiness.

I hope this year ends soon. After all the shit of the last couple of months I need a fresh start.

Stabbed at the soup kitchen?

echoing avon ... *stabbed at the soup kitchen??8

it's been a rough year for lots of us ... losses on several fronts that all take their toll and wear our souls away a little each time ... sorry to hear of the loss of your dogs, I can imagine how much you'll miss them, the bigger the characters they have the larger the hole they leave behind in our lives ...

Hope the surgery after effects wear off sufficiently for the benefits to be felt ... either that or really good drugs ... 2009 is nearly over thank goodness .... maybe 2010 will be kinder to us ...

back was okay before thanks to the creative surgery in 1996, this was just removing the support structure installed to let the bones heal.

i miss the dogs. the past 2 years have basically ripped away my family and its... well, you can imagine.

*hugs* Sorry to hear about your dogs. It's always sad to lose beloved pets. I don't think I ever fully recovered from losing my childhood cat.

Glad to hear the back surgery went well. I hope you continue to recover and don't suffer any complications. Also - yeah, lets hope that is the only knife wound you get this year. And next.

Hear you on the holiday cheer. I am only thankful that my temp job doesn't pipe in Christmas music because I really might kill someone if I had to listen to that for 8 hours a day. Only a couple more weeks until we ring in 2010.

the original repair in 1996 wired 2 vertebra together to let them heal. not quite fusion, but it did limit mobility because the wire cage limited some mobility. now that the cage is gone i can actually turn at the waist! it's cool! and hey, good drugs are always fun.

but, there are staples in my back. staples. in my back...

Stabbed at a soup kitchen--see, this is why I don't do good deeds. I find other ways to make my karma increase. I'm very sorry about your dogs--losing pets you've had that long is really had. I still miss my Scotty dog I grew up with. Hope your Percocet scrip stays up to date as long as you need it and that recovery goes well. And remember, guys dig intersting scars.

yeah, 2008 sucked so bad, but 2009 was equally crap.

the duragesic patches are light years beyond cool. the percocet is actually so i can 'drive'. yep. you read that right, i can drive on that shit! luckily, i don't have to go anywhere because even i think driving high on oxycontin is nuts.

the original scar was over 12 inches long from about T8 to S2. the new scar inside that is only about 2 inches long, mostly at the base. but staples! now on top of the suture holes there will be staple holes! add that to the stab from 2008 and the bullet wound in my thigh (really not a funny story. let's just say a certain special effects house went out of business over that.) i think i have enough interesting scars.
