I guess Slashdot is starved for real content. Excellent work on providing it. Too bad you can't find a good way to profit from it:

Actually; instead of the crappy AdWords, you should really link to the university propaganda site and bill these Internet talks as a recruiting tool.

Thats a good suggestion, I might talk to some of the people over in the marketing department (or whatever it is) and see if we could get them to pay for some of the costs incurred for speakers in the future..... Thanks :-)

I remember joking after the talk about posting the talk to Slashdot, especially after some of Gord's comments about the site and some of its more colourful characters. It should be interesting to see the reaction if any.

Seriously, you should do something better than post a 400MB file as the only option to get the content of the talk. At least provide a lower-quality version, or an MP3.

bartle & I were talking about that, we're definitetly looking at lowering the bitrate for future talks.
