And the days are drifting into seasons: Closed RP Simkin/Lizzie

OOC: Possibly Backdated, I dunnoSimkin was in a peculiar mood, partly because he was bored, and partly because he'd discovered he was feeling actual affection of some kind for the mortals around him. This was vaguely disconcerting, but also an interesting change. Stagnation was not something Simkin particularly enjoyed, and generally did whatever ( Read more... )

Elizabeth was in her room, arraigning a bouquet of flowers that she had accidentally created while trapped in a room with Mr. Darcy, when the hawk arrived.

She was quite happy that her uncomfortable meeting with Mr. Darcy should soon be forgotten in the pleasures of walking with Simkin. After she changed into a suitable walking gown and spenser, and completed her toilette with unusual care, she placed a white lily in her dark hair and, being sure to bring a bonnet, followed the map towards the gardens.

"Mr. Simkin?" she called, looking around the garden with great pleasure.

Simkin was lounging on a stone bench, clad in an green silk shirt, entwined with ivy, a pair of well-tailored brown pants, with customised grass stains on them, and tucked into the pocket of the shirt, at odds with everything else: an orange silk handkerchief.

Upon hearing his name, he glanced up, and instantly a smile illuminated his face, almost literally. He pushed himself to his feet and strode over towards Elizabeth.

"Miss Bennet. How delightful to see you! And please, just Simkin. Mr. Simkin is both dreadfully formal and dull, and incorrect, for it assumes that I have a surname. Alas, that is something I wouldst rectify, given half a chance, but not for you, dear lady. To you, I must beg that I always be Simkin. Or 'That Well-Dressed Fool'."

Elizabeth laughed and curtsied. "I shall obey your desires, sir. As 'That Well Dressed Fool' holds some measure of truth, it seems a bit of a mouthful to use in everyday situations. I shall be forced to save the second title for special occasions and simply call you Simkin."

She wondered, briefly, if she should ask him to call her Elizabeth in turn, but quickly vetoed the idea. She scarcely knew Simkin, and through she was perfectly amenable to being called 'Miss Elizabeth', simply 'Elizabeth' seemed a bit... too forward. "Well, sir, you must enlighten me as to the contents of this garden," she remarked, with a smile. "I am very fond of nature, but I cannot claim any knowledge of the magical flora in this castle."

Simkin very carefully hid his smirk regarding her comment about obeying his desires. It would've been most loutish after all, and Simkin was anything but a lout.

"The contents of this garden? Most certainly. In fact, it would be my pleasure." There might have been a wink as he offered her his arm.

"Especially since this is a school, and we are here to learn, are we not?"

Elizabeth took his arm and smiled at Simkin again, quite relieved. "I am very glad to hear all that, sir. I cannot tell how how relieved I am, and how thankful. After too much time in Mr. Darcy's company, I occasionally do feel in need of a rescuer, and you fill that position most admirably."

That was when she noticed Simkin's costume change. She blushed again, though this time she was able to look away and not oogle his chest preserve some of her composure. She did, however, note that he had kept her violet, and couldn't help but be absurdly pleased by it.

This called for a very quick change of subject. "Do you often walk in the gardens?"

Simkin knows several positions he could fill. noticed the change of subject, but felt obligated to add a few more details. "Even should it not be Mr. Darcy who is bothering you, and believe me, there are some royal louts around this school who would be tempted by such a woman as yourself. If any of them bother you, simply call, and I shall rescue you. Even if you are on the other side of the world."

He's a sweetheart, isn't he?

"And yes, I tend to take a walk around the gardens as often as I can," Which isn't that often, really. Not with spending time as a Tea-pot or Whomping Willow. Or with Lizzie. "Of course, having company upon this walks is always desirable." As are you, Miss Bennet.

"Especially company as witty, charming, and, you must forgive me for overstepping my bounds here, beautiful as yourself."

((xD Dead at Simkin's innuendo! What a marvelous use of strike tags!))

Elizabeth wondered if she was going to spend the rest of the day blushing, but laughed off the compliment with her usual good humor. "Again, sir, you give me far too much credit. I thank you very much, though, for flattering me so. It isn't every day that I find myself so outrageously complimented."

She smiled up at him. "And similarly I thank you for your kind offer. It is not everyday that the personification of magic declares to be your knight in shining armour. Or rotted tree bark." Or open shirt. "though I should very much enjoy your company regardless if I was being set- upon by louts."

"Shining armour, Miss Elizabeth, is so dreadfully out of fashion. Combined with it's stench, I doubt you will find me in it any time soon. That would be tacky. Besides, I have it on good authority that knights wear clothing more on this level these days." The shirt may have parted more at this part. Whoops.

"And my company is available to you at all times, day or night. Should you wish it."

He's about THIS far away from asking to court her, because it would be impolite just to snog her. Of course unlike this Mun, Simkin has patience.
