And the days are drifting into seasons: Closed RP Simkin/Lizzie

Nov 21, 2006 17:18

OOC: Possibly Backdated, I dunnoSimkin was in a peculiar mood, partly because he was bored, and partly because he'd discovered he was feeling actual affection of some kind for the mortals around him. This was vaguely disconcerting, but also an interesting change. Stagnation was not something Simkin particularly enjoyed, and generally did whatever ( Read more... )

Elizabeth took his arm and smiled at Simkin again, quite relieved. "I am very glad to hear all that, sir. I cannot tell how how relieved I am, and how thankful. After too much time in Mr. Darcy's company, I occasionally do feel in need of a rescuer, and you fill that position most admirably."

That was when she noticed Simkin's costume change. She blushed again, though this time she was able to look away and not oogle his chest preserve some of her composure. She did, however, note that he had kept her violet, and couldn't help but be absurdly pleased by it.

This called for a very quick change of subject. "Do you often walk in the gardens?"

Simkin knows several positions he could fill. noticed the change of subject, but felt obligated to add a few more details. "Even should it not be Mr. Darcy who is bothering you, and believe me, there are some royal louts around this school who would be tempted by such a woman as yourself. If any of them bother you, simply call, and I shall rescue you. Even if you are on the other side of the world."

He's a sweetheart, isn't he?

"And yes, I tend to take a walk around the gardens as often as I can," Which isn't that often, really. Not with spending time as a Tea-pot or Whomping Willow. Or with Lizzie. "Of course, having company upon this walks is always desirable." As are you, Miss Bennet.

"Especially company as witty, charming, and, you must forgive me for overstepping my bounds here, beautiful as yourself."

((xD Dead at Simkin's innuendo! What a marvelous use of strike tags!))

Elizabeth wondered if she was going to spend the rest of the day blushing, but laughed off the compliment with her usual good humor. "Again, sir, you give me far too much credit. I thank you very much, though, for flattering me so. It isn't every day that I find myself so outrageously complimented."

She smiled up at him. "And similarly I thank you for your kind offer. It is not everyday that the personification of magic declares to be your knight in shining armour. Or rotted tree bark." Or open shirt. "though I should very much enjoy your company regardless if I was being set- upon by louts."

"Shining armour, Miss Elizabeth, is so dreadfully out of fashion. Combined with it's stench, I doubt you will find me in it any time soon. That would be tacky. Besides, I have it on good authority that knights wear clothing more on this level these days." The shirt may have parted more at this part. Whoops.

"And my company is available to you at all times, day or night. Should you wish it."

He's about THIS far away from asking to court her, because it would be impolite just to snog her. Of course unlike this Mun, Simkin has patience.

And there was the blush again, just as expected. Elizabeth had never considered herself particularly sheltered before, but she quickly decided that she had been missing a great deal in Longbourne. Such as Simkin's chest.

"I do not think anyone would argue with such a change," Elizabeth replied, with a smile that was equal parts archness and sweetness. "No one could possibly think such a change detrimental. And your kindness quite undoes me, sir. I cannot hope of ever repaying such a generous offer."

"Miss Elizabeth, you keep blushing. Am I being offensive? If so I must apologise. While such blushing is terribly, terribly attractive, I would not wish to discomfort you in the slightest."

He's a complete gentleman, really.

"And whoever said you needed to repay me? I do not do this in order to hold some boon over you Rather, I do it because I find you a most intruiging woman, and if nothing more, I would call you friend."

Read between the lines there, Lizzie.

"Ah, no, pray excuse me!" Elizabeth replied, quickly. "You are not being offensive in the slightest, sir! I have never met anyone with happier or more charming manners than yourself. That, more than anything else, would be the source of my blushes."

Friends? Lizzy, though completely thrown of kilter by both Simkin himself and his answer, attempted to read between the lines. And... ah. There was the blush again! She was surprised she wasn't feeling faint yet.

Elizabeth laughed. "Friends, sir? Indeed! Though I still protest that you are giving me entirely too much credit."

"What, never? Almin preserve me, we should introduce you to people. There are most certainly those out there with much better manners than I have. Although not nearly as entertaining" He smiled and gestured to a stone bench nearby.

"Shall we sit, my dear? With all that blood rushing to your head, you may become faint, and while you falling for me would not be unwelcome in the slightest, I believe sitting might postpone it a little longer."

Cocky bastard.

"And believe me, though you may protest all you wish; I will continue giving you as much credit as I believe you deserve."

Elizabeth held her hands up in mock protest. "Enough, sir! I give in! Compliment me all you like, if I cannot stop you, but allow me the liberty of disbelieving, lest they go go to my head and spoil any pretense of modesty I possess."

She deliberately ignored the comment about "falling" for him (though it was an interesting possibility), but laughed again and shook her head. "Believe me, sir. I have more strength than that. I am not accustomed to blushing, but I walk a great deal in my spare time, and I doubt that I could be seriously incapacitated by any blush that dares show face."

"Though I take many liberties, I shall leave you that one, at least." He smiled at her, and may have moved slightly closer. Maybe.

He's taking things slowly, very, very slowly.

"I have no doubt of your strength, Miss Bennet. If you believe you are well enough, then we shall continue. And not accustomed to blushing? Really? How... intriguing that you have blushed so often during out conversation."

Elizabeth willed herself not to blush and was moderately successful in the endeavor. In order to preserve the tattered remnants of her composure, she plucked a few magical roses and arranged them in her bonnet.

He seemed a bit closer when she looked up. Possibly. Lizzy wasn't entirely sure, and her own state of mind was sufficiently troubled for her not to have any sort of certainty on the subject.

"I blame you entirely for it, sir," she replied pertly. "I should like to continue, however, if you are amenable to such a plan."

OOC: My Email is the.boojum@gmail.com We should talk/squee at each other over this. Honestly. Since you appear to have little luck with IRC

She kept arranging and rearranging her bonnet, it appeared. Defensive mechanism, maybe? Simkin didn't know, but he reached out towards it

"Allow me, Miss Bennet, since you seem unhappy with the way it's arranged."

He's now facing her, and in close proximity, with a semi-serious look about him. Also, chest right in view.

Hello, Lizzy.

"No... it's... quite fine...." Elizabeth said. She took a good look and Simkin and decided that maybe it wasn't, after all.

"I'm using it to store flowers, and since it was never really intended for that purpose, it doesn't work very well. The flowers keep falling out from where I tucked them. In all likelihood, I should have just taken it off and used it as some sort of basket." She was not looking at his chest. No. Not at all. She was looking at the flower that just fell out of her bonnet. Completely.

It's not like she could help the fact that her hands were at his chest level, and that she needed her hands to hold the flower ( ... )

OOC: Lizzy-mun did okay this right here. This is what we call planning in advance. And now she's taunting me.

Simkin gently took the bonnet and the flowers and studied both for a moment, before deftly tucking the flowers into the bonnet in a pattern that saw a wave of colour as the flowers continually changed. Then he waved his hand over it.

"Abra Kedabra, Hocus Pocus, and Shazam. That should do it. Just say 'Simkin is a lout' should you wish to remove them" He reached up and placed the bonnet back on Lizzie's head, and then froze as his eyes met her face.

"Miss Elizabeth, this might seem a little forward, and I mean forward for me; but with the way the sunlight is playing on your face, I feel an almost irrestistable urge to kiss you. May I?"

((I am not! Not that much, in any case....))

Elizabeth stared at him in utter shock.

Did he just...?

Oh, he did. Well. That was... ah....

Elizabeth tried to think of something clever to say, but as her brain was still occupied with the thought, "He asked if he could kiss you! He really asked if he could kiss you!" it was not successful. She bit her lower lip in an attempt to force herself to think.

It was surprisingly hard, since Simkin was very close and apparently wanted to kiss her. How terribly distracting.

After her dazed silence had dragged on to an almost awkward length of time, Lizzy realized that she was still staring at him.

"Ah... sir... Simkin," she managed to get out, as the hated blush returned. Think of something clever, Lizzy! Where was that wit she prided herself on? "Ah...."

She gave up and settled for a murmured, "If you like."

Simkin has moved back slightly during the silence, as if to give Elizabeth space. For once he was being entirely serious, and so did not wish to offend, or frighten the girl.

At least no more than he already had. She was obviously attempting to say something, but could not find the words.

Humans were so strange at times.

Then came the answer, and he smiled, an attempt to reassure her before leaning in and gently pressing his lips to hers.

It was a light, delicate kiss; possibly the best description is similar to the rising sun playing across water. At least that was what he was aiming for.
