Posted around the school are large posters depicting a space ship rocketing throughout space. Above the space ship are the giant words "SUPER SPACE SHIP!" Beneath the picture is the following.

Do you want to have super adventures in space? Do you want to contribute to one of the most super scientific events ever to take place at Hogwarts EVER? Then ( Read more... )

Borat walks into the Great Hall and sees man with blue hair, who goes by Franky sitting down. "Hello, do you remembers me?" he says, "my name Borat. I have experiences in computer maintenance. I was the one who would paint the outsides and remove dead birds from the pipes. Can I join this quests for the spaceness?"

"Borat?" Franky thought for a bit. "Oh! Yeah, I was at your sorting! Well, I don't think we'll need any dead bird removal in space, as there aren't any birds in space, and I was thinking that we would get to the painting part last. Anything else you could do?"

I previously worked as an ice-maker and a gypsy-catcher. And I work also extracting spermatozoa from animals which I have done 11 years.

Ice-maker? What method did you use to make ice? Those other two, I...don't think will be needed for this project.

Violet approached Franky's table eagerly. Blueprints! Engines! Machinery! It was like she was fourteen and in the Baudelaire family library again. Even though she was pretty sure it wasn't possible to build a spaceship with limited supplies, she was excited about the prospect of trying. And who knew? Maybe they really could build a spaceship...

She leaned over the table, trying to see what Franky was doing. "What are you designing?" It had sounded better in her head.

"A space ship," Franky said without even turning to see who had said it. Almost immediately, he crumpled what he was working on, tossed it over his shoulder, and reached for a new scroll. "Why d'you ask?"

"I saw your posters," Violet said, "and I was interested in assisting with your spaceship. I have experience in creating mechanical devices, and I've been told I'm quite good at it." That wasn't entirely true- she knew she was good at it, but thought it might sound presumptuous of her if she said it.

Franky turned around to look at Violet, grinning. "Really? That's super! I was kind of worried that a school for magic wouldn't have any engineers, but I guess I was wrong! Anyway, what's your name? What do you specialize in, if you do?"

Desmond Hume has been spending his first few days in the Castle getting acquainted with the grounds and the layout; now he figures it's time to take a chance at the people. The bright blue in the middle of the Great Hall catches his eye as he's walking past the open doors, so he pokes his head in--and the rest of his body follows soon after. He strides over to stand behind Franky, peering over the guy's shoulder at the various blueprints et cetera--that's right, he'd seen the flyers around.

"Space, huh?" He says by way of conversation, cradling his chin between thumb and forefinger. "The final frontier and all. What's so great about space, brother?"

"It's harder to make a ship for space than for water," Franky said, his eyes glued to his blueprints. "This is a test of skill. And then there's the possibility of meeting aliens..."

Curious, Ford picks up one of the crumpled papers and flattens it out a bit to take a look. "Building a spaceship?" he says to Franky. "Hoopy. What sort of power drive are you planning to use? Infinite Improbability? Bistromathics? Bad News?"

"Hyperspace drives are still pretty common, but there are a few other unusual methods that have been developed. Some people said that mucking about in hyperspace was too tedious, but I think the engineers and physicists were just bored.

"I think the Infinite Improbability Drive is the best of the new methods. Well, if you don't mind a sofa for a while."

Borat returns, this time Aayla has accompanied him. His suit is rather untidy. "This gypsy will relinquish her tears to protect us from the AIDS."

Aayla gave the strange man a not-quite glare, then looked at the blue-haired cyborg. "I'm not planning to cry any time soon. Perhaps you could tell me more about this project?" She looked around at the blueprints. "Interesting idea of ship mechanics you have. I take it you don't actually have a working ship yet."

Trying to ignore Borat as much as possible, Franky turns to Aayla. "Not yet, no. I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to control a large enough blast powered by soda. So far, all of my designs would, most likely, explode."
