Ryuuji joins in the general applause after Sara's speech, impressed by how well she planned everything out. He hadn't realized she was going to throw a proper party, but then again, it is Sara, after all. He should know better than to think she'd do anything halfway.

Greeting anyone he meets on the way easily, he works his way through the throng to reach the hostess of the night. Once there, he gives a quick polite bow, then holds an odd little flower - it looks like a lily but is made of parchment, with a light-hearted love sonnet penned inside it. With a grin, he explains, "For you, fairest. I thought that a paper flower would be a little more appropriate for you than a real one. Real ones wilt even while words last."

Hi, Ryuuji! Thank you for coming!

*Takes the flower and opens it, and reads the sonnet, blushing furiously* Um, wow, thank you! It's ... it's lovely. I ... um, would you like something to drink?

*takes her arm as if it's second nature, glancing around and asking her* Do you want to head to the bar to get a drink, or just drift around and play the role of gracious hostess? I'm sure everyone must be dying to congratulate their Prefect on her organizing skills.

*lets him take her arm, enjoying being escorted by such a charming young man* Let's go by the bar, first. Looks like people are just starting to trickle in.

*walks with him to the bar*

After getting settled in the dormitory, Walden - who is tipsy at the moment from the earlier drinking - dresses comfortably and returns to the common room. A quick scan of the room determines that Lucius hasn't arrived yet. Disappointed, but not worried, he returns to his seat at the bar and takes up doing shots again, waiting.

Hey, Walden! You remember Ryuuji, right?

Vodka tonic here, and um, I'll see what everyone else wants.

It wasn't that he'd wanted to come, exactly. But it seemed, really, that he should, what with the brainfreezy machine he'd asked for being there and all. And there were always corners to lurk in.

Nny'd had a lot of practice lurking.

He'd ensconsed himself in an out-of-the-way spot, with a brainfreezy in one hand, and a knife he was clutching like a security blanket in the other.

Stephen Maturin, easing along the edges of the room, spots Nny in a secluded corner. He does not know how long he will need to wait for Nagini, and the prospect of using his amateur Parseltongue has him more nervous than he expected; some human company would be welcome.

He is juggling a plate of spotted dick and an odd translucent box which, on a closer look, appears to contain a corsage of black hellebore leaves and blossoms, narrowly constructed to circle a snake's girth, nested on a bed of killed and cleaned rodents. "Er, mind if I join you?" he addresses Nny.

Nny glanced up, mildly startled. "I guess." He peered curiously at the... was that a box of dead rats?... but didn't ask about it.

*slithers on into the Ravenclaw corridor, snapping at anyone who gets in her way, the little queen that she is*

*finds her way over to estebanmd and tastes the air around him, sensing dinner nearby*

*raises her graceful head*

Lupin, still secretly chuffed about his new status as Ravenclaw Head of House, applauds Ms. Sidle's speech and goes to get himself a glass of champagne. He realizes he's been too preoccupied with his newly-arrived record collection (and with psychoanalyzing Snape) to remember to invite Professor Crowley, as he'd been planning to do. Oh well. He smiles and waves at Ms. Sidle, who is still arm-in-arm with Ryuugi. She really is a lovely girl, he thinks.

Congratulations, Professor Lupin!

"Thank you very much, Ms. Sidle." He watches Ms. Sidle's interactions with that murderous oaf McNair and suppresses a look of amusement.

Crowley saunters into the room and takes a look around. Catching sight of Lupin, he walks over to stand next to him.

"Remus. Some shindig."

Kaylee and Simon walk slowly into the room hand in hand, Kaylee leading slightly. Simon sees Sara and Ryuuji talking to Walden, and gently steers them toward the small group.

"Sara! Hello... you remember Kaylee?" He grins at the girl next to him, then returns his attention to the others, "And hello Walden. Ryuuji. I trust everyone's having a lovely time?" He smiles knowingly, noting Sara's arm entwined in Ryuuji's.

Kaylee smiles at the assembled group.

"Hi Sara, Ryuuji" he gets a slightly knowing smile "Walden. This sure is a fancy party!"

Simon blushes a little, but doesn't seem embarassed. "Thanks, Sara. Anything I can help with?"
