If it hadn't been in the little packages, he wouldn't have eaten it- he learned his lesson after the LAST time about accepting random candies left out in the hall by pranksters.
But this looks safe enough... He selects one of the squares, unwraps it and enjoys, walking off, not even noticing that he's slowly becoming intangible.
Chocolate! Dieter hadn't eaten much American chocolate, but he was sure it couldn't compare with German chocolate. He unwrapped a piece and popped it in his mouth, crunching down into the caramel center.
Lily spotted Dieter and drooled slightly at the sight and made her way over to him. Perhaps he knew what might be going on?
"Hullo, I don't know if you remember me. I think we've met a few times, I'm Lily. I wonder if you've, by chance, eaten a chocolate. Oh. You're wearing pants."
The last bit she hadn't meant to say out loud. She blushed faintly and grinned, a bit idiotically, at Dieter.
"I am. I think this might be the first time you've met me with clothes on." He meant to reach out and shake her hand, but his arms seemed to move of their own accord. He tucked his hand behind her back, held out her other arm, and dipped her into a graceful oversway. "I'm-- I'm so sorry!" he said as he turned and dipped her the other way. "I just feel like dancing!" He lead her through a twirl, then pulled her back into a tight closed position. Their bodies were mere inches apart as he started to salsa.
Now this was an interesting effect. Lily smiled and followed Deiter in the salsa, hoping that she didn't step on his feet or fall down or... "Talk in embarrassing rhyme?" she reminded herself with an internal eye roll.
"Oh, it's quite all right. The chocolates - no use to fight the effects. We just have to make the best of whatever it does to you or me."
She allowed him to lead her around, enjoying the quick steps. Dieter was a very good dancer. And shirtless. She grinned up at him. Maybe the chocolates weren't that bad...
Walking past a box of chocolates, Lily read the note with interest. She didn't know this bird, but Muggle chocolates were fairly harmless, yeah? Picking a piece at random, she unwrapped it and took a bite.
"Not bad. Though I've had better treats and sweeter sweets."
Lily paused. She looked down at the half-eaten chocolate and sighed.
"Bugger it all. I shouldn't fall for the overused 'Muggle chocolate' ruse."
Lily grinned at Harry, then looked at the chocolates. Bugger. She didn't want him to eat any of them - Merlin knows what the amateur spells on these things could do (though she was thinking about slipping a few into her pocket for further study) - but she really didn't want to talk in sodding rhyme. She was fairly certain that it would cause Harry to determine that disowning her would be his best route to sanity. Sighing, she grimaced and said,
"Don't go near the box, m'dear There's some sort of spell - what, I can't tell."
Then she rolled her eyes and smiled a bit stupidly at Harry.

"Oh, right. They make you talk in poetry?"

That could be arranged, but I suspect you'd enjoy it too much.
