1. What is your favorite cheese? Why is it your favorite?
There is a special sugared cheese that my people make, somewhat a delicacy, the cheese itself made from goat's milk. I must confess I favour it a great deal, perhaps more than might be thought healthy, I'm often told in jest.

Your voice is fair in song, you say? Would you favor us with a song?

I would be most happy to. It's unlikely that I know any songs from your realm, so would an Elven song in my own tongue be acceptable?

I'd love to hear it, but, you know, we won't be able to understand the Elvish words -- so maybe you could accompany the song with an interpretive dance, so we could follow the meaning too?

*gives him a funny look* A what? I can easily translate any song into Westron - Common Speech, that is, what we're using now. But some meaning is always lost in the process. The choice is yours.

I like weapons. What've you got?

thranduils_son March 16 2006, 13:33:45 UTC
I can acquire many different weapons from my realm if needed. Fine swords of any make, bows, hunting knives, daggers, cleavers, axes, maces, even Hobbit-sized weaponry and the more crudely fashioned Orc tools of war. Armor, as well.

*very interested* *which on Bothari's face is barely perceptible, but translates into a unsettling impression of avidness*

Orc tools of war...

*unsure how to interpret the expression, simply assumes the man is interested in what he repeated*

Aye, an assortment of crudely forged weapons. Crude, yet very effective in achieving their purposes, as I can attest to. They've a rather more fearsome appearance than the more finely crafted weaponry of other races. What sort might interest you? Sword, glaive, axe...? There are many.

If you touch my hair I'll run your hands through a meat grinder.

Weapons, though... what sort? If you give me something I like I might not squib you.

Such harsh words! I do naught unless invited. You need not worry, I will heed your warning.

As I stated to the fellow before you: Swords, bows, hunting knives, daggers, cleavers, axes, maces, and even Hobbit-sized weaponry and Orc artifacts. An Orc blade might be of interest to you? Though not as finely crafted as Elven swords, and usually a great deal heavier, they are no less efficient in their purpose and rather more... intimidating, in appearance. Also, the end of the hilts are often spiked. I have several on hand, and could easily get more. Are any to your liking?

*eyes light up at the swords*

Those do have style. I like the first one. A lot.

Gryffindor. Because you didn't flinch.

Then it is yours. I thank you for your vote.

Bakura blinks and stares at Legolas for a few moments; trying to gather more about this person.

Finally he repeats as the others, "Weapons? I like weapons."

Legolas regards Bakura in a similar fashion, seeming neither hostile nor threatening, though not precisely friendly. Cautious would be an adequate description of his manner.

"I give you the same offer as the others. Shall I repeat it, or did you hear me before? There is a very wide range of weaponry available to me, and I could see about forging something specifically for you if you'd prefer."

Casually, Bakura crosses his arms over his chest and cocks his head to the side; noting the others stance as well. 'A wise one, this one is.'

"Luckily, I heard you. It seems that weapons is currently a common request. I'd rather like a dagger of some kind... Any recommendations before I give my opinion on where to sort you?"

"Ah, a dagger. I do have several daggers and hunting knives, all very fine weapons. You'll find in general that any of Elven make are more easily concealed, no matter the size, than those made by most other races. The engraved runes, you see. They grant the weapon and wielder specific advantages."

*glances clothes up and down* I'm guessing when you say 'friend' you're referring to Gimli? The short dude with the beard? He's in Gryffindor, then, so I'll say there.

thranduils_son March 16 2006, 13:42:11 UTC
Aye, Gimli! The Dwarf. A stout fellow, bearded as you say, and likely outfitted in heavy armor and possessing a large battle axe. I thank you both for your help and your vote. Have you no want for anything in return?

m4rk_cohen March 16 2006, 19:40:14 UTC
Yep, that's him. *grin* And that's all right - you can keep what you have. I don't really need anything right now. But thanks for the offer.

Very well. If ever you decide you might like something, and it's within my power to give it, you need only ask.
