Slug Club #2, Part1

OOC: Here we go, the second meeting. I liked the way the potions class was done, and since this is a fairly interactive club meeting, we'll do it thus: Sluggy will wait for everyone to arrive, then in another thread, he'll explain what's going on and characters will have a chance to react. After that, he'll post a wrap up! Hope you enjoy!

*looks at the couches* Please tell me this isn't going to be either a rendition of musical chairs or a get-to-know-you type game.

*gratefully accepts the pineapple, helps himself to a slice - was getting rather low* I prefer the slices, my boy.

*smiles at Voldie's reaction to the chairs* No, nothing of the sort. Though I think you'll love what I have in store. Feel free to help yourself to the refreshments.

Why do I doubt this highly, Sluggy? *picks at the refreshments and finally settles for coffee* I take it I'll need a quill and parchment? I swear, Sluggy, if you're going to make us write you love poetry for Minerva...

*scowls* It's nothing of the sort. And the parchment is optional. Mind you take the proper seat, though.

*pauses in the doorway to read the instructions, then smiles lightly at Sluggy and Voldie both, giving them an ironic salute before walking over to plonk himself down on an empty couch, seeing that nobody's sitting down yet*

What's the color theme for - are we going to play Chinese Whispers or something?

*eyes rolls of parchment curiously, and draws out a bag of caramellized rose petals*

And would you like these? I went to Honeydukes the other day and thought of you when I saw them, but wasn't sure if you'd like them or not.

Oho! *goes over* Welcome, Ryuuji. Always a pleasure. Very glad you could make it.

*bends to inspect the caramellized petals* I don't believe I've ever had one. May I? *holds out his hand, smiling and quite, quite pleased*

And of course, they're for you! *gives him the clear plastic sack, pleased he likes it* I think they're a new item, since they were on display along with a bunch of other flower-based sweets.

I doubt I could even if I wanted to, Tom. *smiles though* I think you'll like what I have in store for you today. Something that I haven't done yet with the club.

Caramellized rose petal? Ryuuji brought them for me. *oh yeah, he name drops, even when the dropee is in the room*

Thank you, but no. I don't care for caramel. *doesn't like sweets in general* Or is this a hint and you want me to start bringing you things once again?

*laughs* Such cheek. Though.. No, no, it's quite alright. I understand you have other things on your mind. I wouldn't want to take you away from them. I myself am starting to pursue... other interests. *winks*

*withdraws a small picture frame with a blank picture inside*

*Enters the room with a cautious smile for Horace, hands in his pockets* Good afternoon, Mr Slughorn. *he doesn't have anything for Horace, but he is carrying a notebook under his arm*

Dr. Wilson! *immediately goes over, claps a hand on his shoulder* I'm so happy you could make it! Oh but please, none of this 'Mr.' it's much too formal. Horace will do, or Sluggy if you prefer. Many do. Please sit down. Care for some refreshments? *gestures to the table of tea, coffee, muffins and other various treats and sweets*

*his smile broadens, and he nods* Thank you for the invitation, Horace. I've been trying to figure out how to get more involved in life at this school. *Wilson can be VERY earnest when he wants to* How are you doing? I don't think I've seen you around much.

Oh well I've been around. *smiles* Used to be the old potions professor and Slytherin's head of house. *proud, oh yes* I do get around, here and there, trying to keep up with the applicants and run my club and just enjoy the retired life for now.

Now, you're a doctor if I'm correct, yes? What type of work is it that you do? *seems genuinely interested*

"Hello, Sluggy. It is a pleasure to see you. I am quite ecstatic to have been invited." She curtsies, and while she has no memory of her first time at the Slug Club, Slughorn's nickname sticks.

"I shall allow you to greet your other guests, but we simply must speak further." She has woken up with no memory of the night before, nor knowledge of the points she has cost her house. Blissful ignorance seems to one of Emma's favorite things.

She moves to her chair.

Miss Woodhouse! How simply delightful. You're looking well today, I must say. Do help yourself to the refreshments. *offers her a caramelized rose petal* These are most delicious.

Marvelous! *she takes the rose carefully, examining it* What a pretty thing it is. Where ever did you discover such a fun, good sir? Perhaps I shall cater such delights at this week's JAILBAIT meeting. I can only hope to approach your congeniality as a host.

*blinks, losing his composure for a moment - obviously no one has told him about JAILBAIT*

Ah, yes. Well, thank you kindly, Miss Woodhouse. I'm sure you'll perform admirably. Incidentally, I received them from Ryuuji who said he picked them up in Honeydukes. I do recommend that sweet shop. Know the owners personally, I do.
