Running the cloth up the long blade as far as his hand could reach and then brining it back along the blade, Sephiroth allowed himself a brief glace in Zack's direction. Returning to Masamune, he discovered he did have something he could ask.
"Settled?" Simple, something that wasn't in that odd kind of murky area when it came to whatever relationship the two of them had.

He was quiet a moment, and then, "Sometimes I wonder if I'm the same person now as before I died." The thought wasn't new, but actually saying so, to Sephiroth of all people, had never crossed his mind, until now. He half expected Sephiroth to laugh at him.

Sephiroth knew all about being deal and coming back something else. Something better. More. Perhaps Zack had been 'at peace' perhaps not. Sephiroth would never be, not until he fulfilled Mothers desires, and here it was impossible. He could only bide his time.
He gave Zack another brief glance. "You went through a lot before your death. I could feel you through the mako in the tanks." He hadn't been whole then, but he'd been regenerating in the Northern Crater, his will in the Lifestream reaching down to skip along the J cells within Hojo's toys and then mako itself.
