Walking on Water (Open RP; the Lake)

Oct 02, 2010 12:44

Standing on the surface of the lake like the messiah Sephiroth knew was, single black wing motionless, Sephiroth pulled his useless PHS from his pocket and threw it down into the water. He watched it ripple and send waves outwards to brush against the soles of his boots with a mild sense of amusement. The thing had long since been useless, he wasn' ( Read more... )

Kusuriyuri was harvesting some late flowers and herbs from the forest and along the lake shore. He paused in his explorations. He couldn't recall seeing anyone walking along the surface of the water before. As he hadn't seen this person before, he also had to think it was a newer student...with an unusual energy. He watched, waiting to see if he'd be acknowledged or ignored. In a way, he was glad Boukensha decided that exploring the greenhouses would be more entertaining than going into the forest today.

Sephiroth's eyes flicked to the man, his pupils thinning just a little as he noted his difference to the common populace of Hogwarts--not that the common populace was all that normal anyway, but the majority there of were certainly more humanoid that this one--and wondered just what the man found so interesting about him that he had to stare.

Finally making land, Sephiroth raised his chin a little and narrowed his eyes at his voyeur. "Such a calculating look, I wonder what you could be thinking."

Kusuriyuri bowed slightly. "This one has not seen one such as you before," he replied, not an apology, only an explanation. "This one is not familiar with all that arrive here so when ones come that he is not familiar with, he is curious. No offense is meant."

He'd hadn't been spoken to so politely since Wutai had surrendered to Shinra. "One such as me?" he replied, looking up at the sky for a moment before he looked back down to the man. "You are rather curious yourself."

Sephiroth got curiouser, what with his six-winged, one-handed, haloed form and all, but for the moment he was relatively normal.

Yukimura was enjoying his reclaimed freedom, though he was aware such freedom was augmented by the presence of Sasuke. It made him smile to know his shinobi was that much closer to him.

He saw the man on the water and found himself intrigued. He stopped, his hand on the hilt of his sword out of habit more than anything. It fascinated to see someone doing something that shouldn't be done, and the wing, just one, was so very different from Kuronue's. Idly, he wondered if it was as sensitive.

It was the sword he noted first, so much like his own only shorter than his. He hadn't fought against another wielder of the katana since the Wutai war and even then those he'd fought had been disappointing at best. Looking to the man and raising an eyebrow.

He paused, fish scattering under his feet. He wasn't quite on land just yet, but close to it. "You're the first here I've seen carrying a sword like mine," he said, tilting his head just a little.

Yukimura looked at the man again, not seeing a sword. "Are you samurai, ronin, ninja, or other?" he asked as not everyone could or would carry a katana like his. His weapon was more likely to be used by the warrior class than anyone else.

"Neither. I am SOLDIER," he said calmly, raising his hand and opening his palm. Masamune leapt to his hand with all the eagerness of a sword that had seen countless battles and dealt countless deaths. She appeared in a green flame that burst outwards along her un-average length.

"No others in my military had a sword like mine, I took it from the... Japanese, during the war in my world. I find it...better." He looked up to Yukimura, raising his eyebrows lightly.

It paid to be careful. While Kurama wasn't inclined to flaunt his power unless absolutely necessary, now that Sephiroth was around, he'd been keeping his youki damped down to such a low level that someone in the know would accuse him of being class D. This pleased him, even if it gave him a headache to pretend to be so weak all the time. Thankfully, at least one of his bodies lent well to not having overt power, and that was his very simple fox shape.

It was this form he took as soon as he saw Sephiroth descending from the sky to stand (with extreme pomp that Kurama could appreciate) on the lake's surface. If the... what was he, an angel with one wing? Well, whatever he was, whether he noticed a little white fox watching him from a rock or not, and what he did about it, would be interesting to see.

Sephiroth had noticed the fox. The colour and tails had been a true give away, not to mention the fact that the boy looked Wutaian (Japanese here, he believed) and took the form of a Wutain legend. After linking the hoshi no tama to kitsune it wasn't too difficult to realise just who the fox was. Sephiroth wasn't one to neglect research.

He paused before the fox, still standing on the water, and smiled just a little. "Have you managed to make any progress with the materia?" he asked, wondering if Kurama could speak human tongue in that body. Angeal had, in a manner of speaking, but Angeal didn't deserve to be compared to others.

Kurama's muzzle gaped in a grin. He'd expected Sephiroth to be studious, but hadn't expected him to gather that much information so quickly. There must have been a kitsune expy in his world.

"Some," he admitted, sitting back a bit to scratch an ear. "I didn't know it could put things to sleep as well. My cat was quite displeased."

Hm, so he'd figured it out, had he? "Most spell materia have various uses." He himself was protected from silence and sleep spells from various rings and bangles he wore to ward off the effects of such spells.

Sephiroth watched Kurama curiously. He hadn't seen a fox except for in the books about kitsune. He found them curious looking creatures.

Hey, you're missing a wing!

Ah, the simple questions and observations for Wishbone.

He looked down at the dog and raised a single eyebrow. "I never had two."

Then how can you fly without going crooked?

Sephiroth blinked. Instead of replying outright, he floated a little above the ground and his wing didn't seem to move at all besides unfurling completely, snapping outwards and sending a few black feathers scattering in the wind.

"I don't use it to fly," he explained, frowning at the dog. Dogs he had no problem with, curious as this one was. He hadn't seen one like it before, much different to the wolves he was used to.

((Cthulhoo hasn't appeared in too long, so how can I resist a Cthulhoo appearance when someone's walking on the lake? =D))A subtle turbulence in the water was the first sign that something unusual was happening. The second sign was far more obvious- a hump of green, squamous flesh emerged from the lake. It was followed by a great deal more of the same, which eventually resolved itself into a unspeakably huge head, greatly resembling an octopus or squid. If there was more to the creature (and there was), it was either beneath the water, or in another dimension (the latter was correct). The head turned towards Sephiroth, a massive pair of utterly inhuman eyes looking down and blinking down at him rather blearily. Great Cthulhoo had of course been sleeping, but, it was nearly impossible to sleep soundly for aeons, and, ever since he'd come to Hogwarts he'd found himself sensitive to the happenings at the lake. He'd learned to ignore the presence of another God-like monstrosity who lived in the waters, but, the footsteps of the unknown ( ... )

Roof? Well, okay.

He was, secretly, a little pleased that the...thing had called him human-like rather than, well, human, since he didn't always look human. Few recognised that. He smiled a little. The thing reminded him a little of his mother. Tentacles and all.

"I apologise if I've disturbed you," he said, ducking his head a little. The only creatures he took issue with were humans, so he didn't mind treating this creature as an equal. He tilted his head a little at the question of whether he was one of his cultists though. "I am not one of your cultists, I have plenty of my own so I have no desire to be such a thing."

((I'm sorry, I always TL;DR Cthulhoo! . . . but then again, I always TL;DR everyone! I can't help it.))

Cthulhoo, being confined to his sleep in the sunken city of R'lyeh until the stars were right (or the rare occasions when its rising coincided with the arrival of some over-curious sailors), had developed a rather proprietary feeling towards the ocean, and water in general. He was larger than anything in it, being immeasurable, and had also been there longer than anything else in it, having arrived upon earth sometime after it had cooled off a bit, but well before the Ordovician era. It took a moment to realize what particular spot he'd surfaced in- it wasn't his usual spot located near the Pacific pole of inaccessibility, as far as possible from any dry land. It was that weird place where the Shoggies had given him sacrifices at what had appeared to be a cultist party.

Hogwarts, he recalled, as he noticed the little castle. A castle which was surely full of humans, which were a small species, but bursting with flavour. And yet, ( ... )

Sephiroth hadn't had anything as bad as a ship being driven through his head, however he had had the misfortune of his body destroyed, and then all of his clones destroyed, and then even his memories destroyed. It didn't work in the end, since he'd sent out his genes to infect most of the Planet in order to be able to set Plan B into motion, wherein his nemisis remembered him and therefore Sephiroth did too. Thus his resurrection and another near destruction of Gaia ( ... )
