For Whom the Bell Tolls (Open RP)

The halls were quiet when he made his way out of his room, his hair damp and hanging limp down his back, along his shoulders. His footsteps echoed along the halls, turned to quiet taps as he made his way into the closest courtyard and stood in the sun for a moment, tilting his head up to the sun. The light was warm on his face and chest, the breeze ( Read more... )

The wards had never been removed. This place was too unpredictable to remove them. Thus, when they began to react, Kusuriyuri wasn't terribly surprised and very concerned. He rose from his desk in his office, moving quickly, silently through the halls, even with his geta, to the source of that maligned aura. He needed to know what this creature remembered, how much a threat he would be, and the best way to ascertain that was in person. He stopped, just in the shadows of the archways, watching, waiting, dampening his aura. He knew his presence wouldn't go unnoticed for long.

He turned his head a little, the only acknowledgement he gave to Kusuriyuri's presence. Violet eyes remained on the clouds trying to cover the sun.

"Well?" he asked. "Are you not going to welcome me back?"

The question revealed much. "To do so would imply this one desired you here," he said, his voice cold. "As you are not desired, this one shall not welcome you."

A quiet sigh. "As I thought."

He smiled a little behind his mask and turned his head a little more, looking at Kurama's partner from the corner of his eye. He wondered why he kept his hair hidden like he did, wondered how much precision it would take to blow away that bandanna and not singe any of his hair.

"Oh, ick," Kurama said, his voice rather cold with disgust. He'd sensed Karasu's presence immediately, and like a moth... well. Inevitability reared its ugly head. "Haven't you the decency to know when you're not wanted?"

For Kurama, he turned his face away from the sun. sensing his energy once again was...Mmm, he adored it. "Kurama," he greeted. Blank though his tone may have been, he was elated to see him.

His eyes lowered, going straight to his hair. "Been keeping well?" he asked. he meant many things.

"As well as I please," he answered with a sigh. Really, would he never get away from maniacs like Karasu and Apos? At least Apos was mildly entertaining.

"You don't have to be evasive with me, Kurama. I already know you inside and out." Kurama had killed him, after all.

Pulling his hands from his pockets Karasu advanced on Kurama.

Kaga's blood ran cold.

Karasu! Here! Apos was bad enough but Karasu...Karasu was worse.

And Kaga could never forgive him.

Now, he remembered what Mello taught him.

"Protego. Expelliarmus. Incarcerous."

Karasu blurred, shifted faster than a normal human could see. Above the Chairman, Karasu clutched onto slightly unstable aesthetic architectural designs above the courtyard doorway, watching.

His little friend had gained some skills, so it seemed. Wandless, handless magic.

Well, since it appeared he didn't need his hands, Karasu would gift him. With a flex of his fingers, he air around Kaga's fingers heated, turned into a slow, burning sensation. Hundreds of tiny little bombs, for the curious.

Kaga yelped. Thinking quickly, he seized a house elf and told him to get help quickly. Then, as the house elf disappeared, he tried a Stupefy instead.

Karasu dodged that too, flipping down to the grass by the Chairman. "Didn't you miss me, Kaga?" he asked, holding his hands out either side of him. "Don't want to give me a welcome home kiss?"

Teru froze in his tracks, eyes widening in horror, and hissed a word most people would have been surprised to hear him say. This couldn't be happening - bad enough that there was a new indestructible psychopath roaming the school, but Karasu was -

...gone. Deleted from the world. Or so he'd hoped. He hadn't quite realised how much he'd still believed that until now, feeling disappointment almost as sickening as fear.

It would be too late by now to get away without being seen, but he remembered Yukimura's training and he still carried wards. He flung them out in front of himself now, levitating them into a barrier. "Wingardium Leviosa!" And then, almost without a pause, "Petrificus Totalus!" praying to no one that he'd cast that in time. (He's fast. Faster than most humans can track...)

Dodging the petrifying spell was easy.

The wards, however, made his a little disappointed. He had wanted to sneak up on Teru. Wanted to see just how well he remembered him, see if his energy still lived under the human's skin. He seemed to suddenly appear before Mikami, as close to the wards and Mikami himself as he could get without actually causing himself too much pain. Sable hair settled behind him, still carrying momentum, along with the tails of his coat.

He placed his hands in his pockets. "Ah, you. I wonder, where did you get this courage from?" Kurama had been busy while Karasu had been away, obviously.

Damn it... Teru stepped backward, slowly, fighting the need to run. Karasu couldn't reach him, that was the important thing. "You never saw me at my best," he said, quietly - the more he lowered his voice, the less it would shake. He wasn't listening to himself, really, only hoping the words would provide a distraction. "Things have changed."

Karasu had to strain to hear a little, even with his demon hearing. His eyes narrowed a little, laughing at Mikami. "Oh?" he asked. "Have you been keeping your eyes open, waiting for my return? Or have you forgotten?"
