Application for APOS (Daughters of Mnemosyne)

((Though I use 'he' Apos is actually a hermaphrodite. But since he seems to identify and dress like a male, I've decided to use it in narration. His voice, similarly, sounds male.))

A blond haired young man wearing black wandered in through the door of the sorting room, carrying a wicker basket of blue orbs in one hand, and a broad sword in the ( Read more... )

Kaga bristled. He did not like the sexual harassment answer. At all.

Kusuriyuri was aware of Kuronue's energy approaching his room. He couldn't think of a reason that Kuronue would seek him out, nor did he think that he would come here when Kurama was out. He opened the door, frowning deeply when he saw Kuronue carrying Kaga, he stepped aside quickly. "Come," he said, gesturing to the beat up couch in their living room. "While I get what is needed, please tell me what happened." Blood was obvious, a lot of it, but why? He moved quickly through the apartment, shooing the cats when they got underfoot in their anxiety, finally settling for crouching near Kuronue, watching everything.

"Some asshole in the Sorting Room attacked Kaga," he growled as he set him down on the couch carefully, ignoring the cats. "Buried a sword in his shoulder," he added, pulling the sword he'd brought with him from his waist and throwing on the ground nearby. "I pulled it out, tried to stop the bleeding somewhat--I don't know if it worked, he's not like Yukimura. He'd been healing so well too," he hissed, tearing at Kaga's shirt so that Kusuriyuri would be able to reach the wound in Kaga's shoulder with better ease.

Kusuriyuri set several bowls, a pitcher of water, rags, and several pouches of medication on the table near the couch. He poured some water into a bowl and added some antiseptic herbs to it, warming the mixture with his wand before applying it to the wound with a rag. "It is more difficult when you are still learning and there is not some of yourself within the one you are attempting to treat," Kusuriyuri murmured, slightly distracted as he examined the wounds in Kaga's body. He frowned deeply. "You have done well," he said. "Slowed the bleeding considerably."

He focused his own energy from examining to reiki and stopped the rest of the internal bleeding. There was only so much the human body would accept, though, and that was too close to Kaga's limit. He focused on Kuronue again. "This," he said, indicating the external wound, "will need other treatment." He continued to clean it, changing the rag as needed.

He rested a hand on Kaga's forehead. "Why is it you attract such, my friend?" he asked softly of the unconscious

He hovered nearby, kneeling by Kaga. Normally he would have been pleased that he'd managed to help Kaga, but it was washed out with concern.

His hands were still stained with blood, but he couldn't bring himself to clean them, or go and get Kaga some new clothes at least, when the idea popped into his head.

"He managed to burn whoever it was to a crisp, but I doubt that'll last long. He wouldn't even let himself scream until I'd gotten him out of there," he said quickly, trying to calm himself. Distractedly he tried to inform Yukimura of the development, but could only manage a scramble of a few words and a general impression.

"It is good he defended himself," Kusuriyuri murmured. "He was unable to with that other," he explained, refusing to give name to Karasu, his disgust obvious in his tone.

He mixed a bowl of water with some herbs to encourage healing, heating it and letting it cool to the proper temperature. Boukensha started to reach out, nose first, to sniff the contents, retreating when Kusuriyuri clicked his tongue at him. He looked at the door. "Yukimura comes," he said, glancing at Kuronue.

Rage simmered. It wasn't fair that this had happened to Kaga twice now.

He was watching the cat when Kusuriyuri announced his lover's presence, and he looked at Kusuriyuri, then the door, and back to Kaga again. He stood hastily and went to the door, didn't quite seem to care if he got blood on the door handle as he opened it before there was a knock.

Boukensha followed Kuronue to the door, wanting to do something. He pressed close to Kuronue's leg, looking out. Kusuriyuri, still waiting for the solution to cool enough for use, watched, mildly amused by the kitten-sized cat.

"What is it?" Yukimura asked as he approached the door, anger and concern in his eyes. "Kaga," he said, going white to the lip, anger burning in his eyes.

"He is out of danger, physically," Kusuriyuri said, dipping a cloth in the mixture and dabbing it along the wound. "Kuronue brought him here, having stopped most of the bleeding."

Kuronue didn't like cats. He glared down at the ball of fluff rubbing against his leg and tried to gently push it away with the toe of his boot. He urged Yukimura inside and closed the door, then pulled him to Kaga. "In the Sorting Room, there's someone new. They attacked Kaga," he said, sticking close to Yukimura.

Boukensha stayed closer to Kuronue and Yukimura. Yukimura glanced at the cat, flicking an eyebrow at the creature, before looking back at Kaga and Kusuriyuri. "How is he?" he asked, his voice cold.

"He will recover," Kusuriyuri said. "It may take time physically, though this one is not sure how long it will take for his mind to recover," he said softly.

Yukimura reached for Kuronue's hand, holding it tightly. "He was just recovering so well," he said, his voice tense.

"That's what pisses me off the most," Kuronue hissed, gripping Yukimura's hand tightly. "How far will this set him back? How long will it be for him to start trusting others again? He gave me a second chance but I doubt he has much more chances left in him to give."

He turned his eyes on Kaga, looking at him sadly, all of his anger draining away. He toes Boukensha away again.

Boukensha was stubborn, not taking a hint. He wanted comfort and knew that Kusuriyuri was off limits for now. He also twisted around Yukimura's feet as well.

"This one can only do so much for his mind, but that which can be done will be," Kusuriyuri said. "It will depend on how much he will accept." And what else might be involved, he didn't add aloud. He would keep a close watch on Kaga, as close as he was able to.

Yukimura looked at the cat again and reached down for him. Boukensha squirmed up to his shoulder, purring to comfort himself. "What is it that concerns you so much, Peddler?" he asked.

Kusuriyuri looked at Kaga then at Kuronue and Yukimura. "This one is not sure yet. He will watch."

Kuronue narrowed his eyes a little. "You don't think..."

Well, Kaga was only human, and he had been put through a lot of shit. Kuronue wilted. He didn't want him to go through that.

He rested his cheek on Yukimura's shoulder and glared at the cat. It was invading his space. He barely kept from hissing at it.

"Kurama will not be happy," he said, as the thought occurred to him. He stroked Yukimura's hand with his thumb, trying to give his lover some form of comfort, knowing how vicious he could get.

"It is possible," Kusuriyuri said softly. "This one will keep watch."

"One of those?" Yukimura asked, wrapping an arm around Kuronue. It is only until he can be returned to the one he truly wants. He is frightened, he said to Kuronue about the cat.

Kusuriyuri bandaged the wound after applying a paste of antiseptic and healing herbs. "This one will watch," he repeated. He rose, going to the sink in the kitchen to wash his hands. Once his hands were clean, he walked over to Yukimura and held his hands out for Boukensha. "Thank you for comforting him," he said as the kitten-sized cat crawled over to him and into his collar.

Kuronue's glare simmered down to a lukewarm look, he still didn't like the thing. He turned his eyes back to Kaga, a small frown on his lips. He leaned into Yukimura a little. He wondered if the samurai had noticed the changes in Kaga's emotional stability. If anyone else had.

"Thank you," he said, to Kusuriyuri, because it needed to be said. "For caring for Kaga," he added.

Kusuriyuri bowed as well as he could with the kitten in his collar. "This one knows that he is important to you," he said looking at Yukimura, "and it would seem to you," he added, looking at Kuronue. "You will be kept informed. If this one needs anything, he will ask."

"Thank you," Yukimura replied. "And, you will keep us informed if it is the other?" he pressed.

"This one hopes it is not, but he will not allow that to blind him. He will keep you informed." Kusuriyuri returned to Kaga's side. "You may stay or go as you see fit," he offered. "This one will prepare tea if you chose to remain. Kurama will return soon."
