Open RP - Mistletoe Madness!

Jan 07, 2010 19:40

((Backdated to sometime during the holidays. I'd have put this up sooner except, well, I've been busy.))
Given how well it had worked last year, Amaranth decided that spreading holiday saliva was a tradition that should continue for as long as possible ( Read more... )

Fuuka had gone into the Great Hall to get some food. She had already crossed the threshold when it registered that something was different about the doorway. She backed up so she was under it again.

When she saw what it was, she blushed. "Oh my."

Pharaun smirked slightly as he peered up at the mistletoe. This was new.

"Hmm... Interesting decorations they have for this holiday."

"Do you like it?" inquired Amaranth, who was, as usual, naked except for the heart anklet Lezard had given her for Christmas. She gave Pharaun a genuine smile as she eyed him appraisingly. He was not one of her usual sex partners.

That would be because he'd only recently unpopped after a couple years of absence. Pharaun managed to look only slightly surprised to be confronted by a girl not wearing a stitch of clothing. "It's certainly interesting. Is there a purpose behind it apart from brightening the place up?"

"Well, apparently there's a tradition here of making out under the mistletoe," said Amaranth. "But other than that, yes, it does brighten the place up!" She took a step closer, still smiling cheerfully. "So... Do you want to make out?"

Albel frowned. He thought he knew what mistletoe meant on Earth by now. Well, he wasn't having any part of it; he marched resolutely through the door, intending to pass through too fast for anyone to decide to catch him and kiss him.

Unfortunately, the house-elves had other ideas. He still hadn't forgiven them for enforcing the Hat's crazy marriage plans, even if for him it had been one of the few people in the school he'd been able to stand at the time. But there was the whole no-kill thing - and the whole "house-elves heap big magic" thing no one had warned him about; every time he swiped at one it disappeared and came back a moment later. So he was being herded back toward the door to await someone to kiss him properly.

See, the mun thought about sending another character, which given Maddie is the only female she plays...

So, anyways, onto the tag.

Maddie can be quite the fan of mistletoe in the right contexts. That being, generally, the presence of alcohol (preferably wine) and an attractive partner.

One out of two will work.

Though, honestly, she finds the attempts to remove the stuff amusing, especially since it stubbornly reappeared.

She stood in the middle of the hall, though, just slightly out of the way, as she watched.

He turned a red-eyed glare on her. Literally red-eyed, in fact - it wasn't common, even on Elicoor, but it was a natural eye color. "What are you looking at, worm?"

Such a charmer...

Maddie shrugged, looking directly at him. "Nothing, it would seem."

The last experience Brienne had had with mistletoe was bittersweet. So, even though a part of her was far from surprised by its presence for the second year in a row, she might have wished to avoid it. Unfortunately, there was little hope of doing so. Especially since there was a large clump of the stuff in front of the Ravenclaw common room door, and she had to pass under it in order to enter the bar, where she hoped to locate, or at least summon, Methos.

Methos hated holidays. They were usually poor imitations of older festivals; when all the meaning and substance had become nothing more than an echo of the past. Christmas was no exception, it's focus on friends and family only reminding him of the friends and family that were long dead. Holiday blues, immortal style.

As a result, he had been hiding out in the Ravenclaw bar, steadfastly attempting to stay there and drink until the whole affair was over with. It was only when he caught a glimpse of Brienne near the door of the common room that he decided to leave the bar.

"Strange tradition, isn't it?" he murmured, his hand squeezing hers.

"A bit," Brienne answered, smiling and returning the squeeze. "Especially at Hogwarts. But then, this holiday season isn't something we have back home." She handed him the package. "It isn't much, but I wanted to get you something," she said shyly. "And I couldn't think of anything else I knew you'd like."

The package contained a set of fancy fountain pens and the requisite ink. "For your journals," she explained simply. She had no idea if she'd gotten anything that would actually serve him well as a writing instrument, but the pens were at least pretty.

Methos opened the package and smiled. "They're beautiful, thank you Brienne." He ran his fingers over the pens before setting them aside to draw her into an embrace. "And they're perfect for the journals."

He pulled back a bit and nodded up at the cluster of dark green leaves and white berries. "If it's a Hogwarts tradition, then perhaps we should honor it?" he asked, a glint in his eye.

Mistletoe! If ever an excuse could be found for people to ravish beautiful women, Cathy Dollanganger was convinced mistletoe was it.

Dressed in a dancing leotard she'd found somewhere, she stationed herself in the door of an empty classroom, practicing a look of studied casualness as she performed dancing exercises, which showed off how limber her body was to great effect and which dioubtless would send anyone even marginallly related to her into fits of ecstacy and unbridled lust.

Yay, another dancer! Sunflora liked dancing. And lucky for Cathy, Sunflora doesn't understand the concept of kissing under the mistletoe, and even if she did, would wonder what the point was since human kisses don't put someone to sleep or confuse someone.

Anyway.

Sunflora started dancing next to Cathy, trying to match her.

Since Sunflora hardly constituted a threat to Cathy's femininity, she was able to treat her with a little more friendliness than she might ordinarily.

"Golly gosh, you're really good!" she exclaimed. "Have you ever done professional ballet?"

Sunflora tilted her head. "What's ballet?" She's a plant, what do you expect?
