"You're right! Sexually harass is a wrongness!" Finally, someone to share Yuuri's indignation without the weird moralistic homophobia that usually accompanied such objections!

Yuuri was sixteen years old, had an adopted daughter not yet ten, and was saddled with a male fiance. He was not one to denounce alternative family structures.

"Wow. Cool! I'm sorry to hear about your parents," Yuuri added as a dutiful afterthought. The underground cities gripped his imagination. "So, you might like Slytherin, since that's the underground dorm. You could feel like you're at home on Mars again! But in terms of personality I'd say you're a definite Ravenclaw, 'cause you want to learn about everything new."

Mike, literal-minded Martian that he was, shook his head. "It is a goodness that you want to remind me of Mars, but I do not see Mars on anything of the things humans have built on Earth. But I have seen pictures of ravens."

"I want to hear all about Mars!" Yuuri was enthusiastic. The mun, however, had mercy, knowing that in Mike-mun's place, she would not want to detail the many features of Martian life. So Yuuri said: "Maybe sometime after you get Sorted, we can have curry together and you can tell me about it?"

Mike nodded. "Curry would be a great goodness," he answered. "And I will tell you about Mars." Since Yuuri had specifically used the phrase "all about Mars", it seemed likely that that curry would last a while. He recognized that the offering of curry had the significance of the water ceremony. Though Jubal had never exposed him to its wonders, he grokked that it was important to this human, and he would enfold and cherish it. Acknowledging the ritual he made a slight bow and concluded with a phrase in Martian which he translated to the rough human equivalent immediately thereafter: "May our eggs share the same nest."

Since Mike had explained to Yuuri what he meant about eggs, Yuuri really hoped the Martian wasn't suggesting they go in halfsies on hiring a surrogate mom or anything. Just because Yuuri was engaged to a boy didn't mean he wanted to .. ew, he couldn't even think about it. It'd put him off his curry!

He decided to ignore that part.

"Great, I'll meet up with you sometime after you get Sorted!"
